Lightning glared at the boy. So he was just an awful student. If Hope had been like this guy, she would have left him in the Gapra Whitewood to get eaten by the monstrosities they built there. She wasn't sure if his personality type was some sort of disorder or just general stupidity. Maybe it was something to do with the world he was from but it was annoying as hell. How the hell did he survive to become this age. Maybe he lived in a place like Cocoon where it was possible to become soft, and not have to deal with monsters and evil. She doubted it, if someone like him had a teacher to begin with.
She looked away and sighed. A headache was beginning to form behind her eyes. She wondered briefly if this was becoming a problem. She didn't often get headaches until apparently recently. Maybe it was the stress of not having people around, or the stress caused by PSICOM. She wasn't sure but she was not a fan. "You should listen better to your instructor." She told him. It wasn't friendly, but it was meant in kind. Someone like him probably wouldn't want to take a beating from some of the people who were around here. Fang sure as hell would have taken him up on his offer to knock him flat. He would have been sprawled out on the floor and bleeding, probably twice over if the woman was here with her.
Another drink was set down in front of her, and she looked down at it confused. Looking back up to the bartender he jerked a thumb towards a guy siting in the back of the room. She recognized the man as a soldier for the Academy. Technically he was a subordinate officer, not that any of the grunts respected her authority over them. She lifted the glass, and placed it away from her. She had no intention of inviting that sort of company, and she had enough to deal with. Not to mention doing so would undermine her authority even further. She didn't date within the ranks. Not her equals, not her commanding officers and definitely not grunts. The bartender took the drink away moments later. "You may not be normal but you should try to play it smart. You're in a foreign world, or so I assume, and you don't know it's people. Don't invite trouble." She told him firmly.

Lightning realized he probably wasn't going to take her suggestion, but she could try. He seemed like a hard headed person. She could see now why his teacher deemed it necessary to beat lessons into him. She sighed and rolled her shoulder. It was still sore from a few days ago. Her time in Crystal Stasis obviously put her out of peak condition. When she got the weapon, the kick back hadn't bothered her much in the past, and now she felt similarly to the first time she was in target practice. The first time she had shot a gun she remembered being sore for days. Of course, the trick shot she made in the chaos hadn't helped. She would need to do regular training, and target practice again. She only hoped she would have enough time to make it out to a range, and work out, without the Academy sending on another bogus mission.
"You're lucky you didn't catch me in a foul mood." She told him. She wasn't exactly in a good mood now. She was only mildly annoyed. Mostly feeling down, rather than angry. Had he caught her in one of her stormier moods this conversation probably would have ended in her punching his lights out when he offered. She's hit Snow plenty of times when she was in moods like that. She had been known to smack around younger recruits in basic training when she was in those moods. Now she wasn't even put on training duties because they didn't trust her rank. She scoffed at the thought. She was a friggin Sergeant and a damned good one. She could only hope that her work during the commotion during Hope's speech would get her the respect she deserved.
"Look either you're going to freak out one of the locals into panic, or you're gunna get someone with a fouler temperament then me. Either scenario does not end well for you."
She said. The people of Academia have been pretty calm about letting the foreigners in the city, giving them shelter and all that. However, she knew the people of Cocoon. They were the worst kind of xenophobic. She could only guess how long this was going to last before some rumor gets whispered around that these people are being sent here to destroy their world, or something utterly ridiculous like that and they become hostile.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
