It’d been a long day. Paine was unaware of exactly what was going on in her current surroundings, as the last thing she’d noticed she’d been in the Thunder Plains, on a sort of adventure of her own…and then she was here. These mountains were definitely not where she’d last been. Paine inspected the greenery, taking note that their variety wasn’t that of her home planet. She wandered a bit, readjusting the bag at her side she’d placed a few of her belongings in during her travels. The young lady had been on her own for quite a while now, even though her Gullwing counterparts had made the decision to stay in contact. She ran a hand through her silvered hair, sighing as her heart began to beat faster.
This was not making out to be a good vacation. Her generally cool attitude was getting a little irritated, although there was no one around to notice it. Paine checked her person, ensuring that her weapons were on her in the case that she may be attacked. Oh man. She thought about the potential beasties out there. Not exactly what she’d been thinking of initially when she got here. With all these things running through her mind, it was impossible to tell it based on external appearances. Paine was cool and collected, watching her surroundings as her hand found its way to the hilt of her blade, which was currently out of its sheath placed on her back. Her fingers absentmindedly traced around the skull's eyes on the sword, as she looked around.
Maybe there's a village around here... she thought to herself, finally getting her calm head back in order. Paine walked on a bit more, wondering if anyone else was in this situation…It seemed strange, not just for the fact she had no idea where she was, but she wondered if this was a dream. If it was a dream, it was a very very realistic dream. Her hand reached up to her necklace, tugging on the skull that was dangling from the faux-barb wire. She hoped maybe she’d see some people she knew, if this wasn’t a dream. If it was a dream, then something was seriously wrong with her. A rustling sound came from behind a large tree near her, catching her attention. Her red orbs looked in the direction of the foliage, knuckles white on the handle of her blade. ”Is anyone there?” she said aloud, hoping someone would answer.
Or not.
Paine jumped back as some sort of dog beast lashed out at her from the foliage. ”Well aren’t you a lovely critter?” she said sarcastically, evading a bite with a boot to the side. The creature didn’t seem to enjoy this lovely action by Paine, which caused the repercussions to be tenfold. The dog…thing came at Paine, jaws open, all amounts of teeth and slobber present to give her more reason to dispose of this creature. With one deft movement of her sword, she swung downwards and then back up to slash the beast in the side, maiming him. ”Buh-bye angry beast,” she mumbled to herself, wiping off the remains of the creature off of her blade, onto some leaves. Paine hoped there wasn’t any more where that came from. Another rustle. Nope, there were definitely more where that came from. She glanced behind herself quickly, noticing the numbers. There was a lot of whatever these things are. She didn’t have a chance. Paine took off at a run, sheathing her sword in mid process and trying to find any sort of shelter she could find from these beasties. There was a slight elevation in the land in this jungle-forest, with a large, broad tree growing up with a slight curve to it that would be perfect for her to climb up. Paine kept running towards this tree, launching herself up the elevation, and onto the tree trunk to grab hold of one of the lower branches of the tree, just barely. Half out of breath, she swung her legs up and onto the branch, just to do the process over again so she could get as far as way from these creatures as possible. Had it been two or three and just herself, Paine wouldn’t have had a problem. But a whole crowd wouldn’t have been a good outcome for Paine, and her position up in the foreign tree was proving to be quite safe. She would have to get down sometime though, but not for a while, she determined that much.
