The soft foot falls on the sand whispered around her ears. Sharp and attentive. Yuna's hair swirled restlestly around her face. The long braid only swung lightly at the bottom. The sound of the ocean sang a melodic tune, brushing the shores of the sand with its deep calm. Yuna had grown up in a place like this. It felt... Not even close to home. She missed Spira. She missed what she had meant to all those people. All those poor people. Why was she saved and brought to this place. She didn't even want to think on it.
A soft whoosh slipped by her ear, and she immediately flicked her wrist up to catch the object that nearly nailed her in the side of the head. It was plastic, and when her eyes flickered to it, she smiled. A boy came up nervously to her. "Sorry about that." He stammered, his eyes focused on the ground. A smile lit Yuna's features. "Don't worry about it. I have quicker reflexes than I used to have!" She said a bit jovially. She handed the boy, who looked around 12, the disc back. She was used to Blitzball, not these other kinds of toys. It was obviously something they had made, and thought up. It wasn't a bad idea. The flicker of images haunted her slowly, deepening inside of her already frustrated heart. "Have fun!" She said as cheerfully as she could. The boy nodded and ran off, telling his friends loudly about the girl he had just met.
She let a small sigh escape her lips. What would she do here? What could she do here? She had heard whispers of things happening here. Of war. And fighting. Did she have what it took to throw herself in again? She wasn't sure. But she couldn't just spend all of her days on this island. She had to get herself out. And live again. The painful clutch to her heart squeezed in on her. She turned and walked up from the beach, and pushed open the door to the inn she was staying in. She gathered her things, and put them all in a bag for a hasty retreat. She went to the stores owner. "So, what do you know about things going on here?" She asked him, curiously. Then he went on a long spiel, about their struggles, and about the things they had gladly overcome. But that the danger was far from over. She nodded her thanks when he was finished, and she took the time over to think.
What was she now? Whose fate would she throw her lot into. Or would she throw her faith into one simple faction. She wasn't so sure. She yanked her gun from the holster on her thigh, and spun it around and aimed it. She popped it back into the leather spot as fast as she had drawn it. She had gotten pretty good at that. She wondered what it would feel like to pull the trigger again. That haunted her also. What she had faced was some kind of evil that was pure, and destructive. It seemed that people here warred against eachother, not a monster. She wasn't quite sure how to feel about it. But she wanted to kow more. More about the people. She would get to know them if she could, and see what cause was the best to back. She was obviously brought here for a reason. A good reason, was all she could hope for.
She walked out of the inn, from her room, and into the sunlight again. There were people all about. How was she to find someone who was with whatever faction. How could she learn the intimate details of the society and who was running what. She needed this information, she was tired of doing nothing. She wanted to fight for something. For somebody at least. The way she did all those years ago. She started to walk through the crowds of people, saying hello, just to see if any would stop and try and sway her to their cause. That is what she was waiting for. Information.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:150px;] | [atrb=style,width:250px;] However great my fear, I will not turn away if there is love in the end | [cs=2]There was nothing but and endless void in his dream, save for the two constantly walking figures that continued in a northward direction. Even though it was from his perspective, there was only a desperation he felt as his body ran frantically towards the two familiar yet distant figures. He attempted to form words with his lips, forming the familiar syllables as he tried to echo out with his non-existent voice. On a subconscious level he cursed his disability, the boy crying silently as he fell to his knees and wept in longing for the two figures. It was the same dream again he realized, but it still continued to feel the same as if mocking him constantly. Shade clenched his hands together in a fist, hammering down on the black ground as his quiet tears ran freely down his cheeks. But something caught his attention, a searing clarity as the whole void of his dream became a swirl of dazzling lights. The next thing he heard was the sound of waves crashing against a sandy shore, his nose wiggling as the quaint smell of salted air permeated his senses. The ground underneath his back felt extremely foreign, it held none of the soft qualities that he normally associated with his makeshift bed. Grumbling silently under his breath, the short eleven year old boy groggily sat up with his pale hands rubbing the corners of his eye. Ruby red eyes flinched at the bright sunlight as he winced, though what surprised him was the unfamiliar sight that was clearly not the Edge he even remembered. It felt relaxing at first, the fresh ocean air and the actual green grass underneath tempting the boy to lie back down and bask in the dream. He glanced around in panic, gasping silently at the unfamiliar surroundings as he quickly gathered himself. He appeared to be on some cliffs, with a distant beachfront spanning along the coast. Shade grasped at his head, fingers pulling in panic at the strands as he searched for the familiar graves of his parents. None of them were nearby, not even the small bed and other tell-tale signs that was a part of his "home" on Gaia. A loud screech panged in his ear, followed by another pair of screeches that quickly forced the male to turn around in alarm. Three amphibian like creatures walked on four legs, their tongues tasting the air as if Shade was a delectable food source. He stood there rooted in fear, ruby eyes widening as one of them lunged towards him with a surprising agility. The creature managed to slam him onto the ground, making him land harshly on his back as he let out a silent grunt of pain. Another one of the spiceacilians lunged at him in his distraction, though out of his sheer adrenaline rush the small boy managed to kick a foot out towards its gut. He took in a deep breath and stood, glancing in every direction to find some sort of way to escape. Nearby he caught the sight of some sort of metallic fencing, and with the spiceaclians already attempting to circle around him he immediately dashed towards the fence. From New Bodhum a nearby guard yawned silently, his eyes blinking against the horizon before he caught something peculiar in the corner of his eyes. " Huh? What's that?" He mused, rubbing his chin as leered into the distance. He spotted the desperate eleven year old running down the cliffs, an exasperated look on the pale boy's face as he ran towards the gate for help. The stout man quickly sounded the alarm, yelling out to the town for the impending monster attack. " Guards, we've got some of those amphibian reptiles chasing a kid, help me!" His voiced echoed out into the town, alarming anyone nearby to the impending trio of monsters and the small boy attempting to run away from them. | [cs=2] |

TAGGED Shade! WORDS 863 STATUS Finished The rise and fall of her footsteps on the sand resounded inside of her head. If only she could wrap her head around it. It wasn't shocking, Yuna had been transported to other places before... Even if the sights were similar, ocean, and sand. This was definitely not her home. The people dressed differently. Things seemed much more chaotic. And when she heard the shrieking of noise, yelling about monsters, a pang hit inside of her heart. But her reflexes worked quicker than her brain. She sprang from the sand so hard, she left a indent where her feet were previously. She was running wildly, before any of the Guards had even started to gather their weapons. A flicker of light formed around Yuna, her clothes bursting from her her body in a whisper of light. Instead of summoner garb, she was clad in a halter top with a hood around its neck, a necklace of the Zanarkand Abes around her neck, denim boy shorts and a half skirt like sash running down the length of her left leg. She grabbed her Tiny Bee's and ran with them clutched in her hand. She also had dark knee high boots, instead of walking around barefoot in the sand. They didn't give her much traction, but she wasn't even thinking about that.
Monsters..
She whizzed past the Guard who had alerted them, he was still fumbling and trying to get ready for an attack. Why did she run into battle without even thinking? She really had no self preservation left, did she.. Not after. She swallowed the lump in her throat, and aimed her gun. She kept running, she would intercept these monsters if it was the last thing she did. Yuna was strong enough to take on monsters by herself. She had trained so hard to just be something someone could be proud of. She wasn't thinking of whose faction could have possibly sent these creatures here, or if the monsters had just stumbled upon the area by happen stance. They were dead monsters, and that was all she was concerned about.
As she finally reached the area the boy was running to, she cut off the amphibians as one was trying to leap after the boy. She aimed and fired shot after shot of mystical ammunition. It really did come in handy when one ran out of bullets. A spiral shot rang out after a burst of light blew from the tip of the gun. Several projectiles targeted onto the creature, blowing it off course and falling in a crisping heap. She spun around too late, one of the other creatures leapt for an attack and knocked her down, she tucked up her knees so the creature couldn't reach her face or neck, she shoved her feet outwards in a quick thrusting motion and knocked the monster on its back. She crawled to a knee and aimed, shooting the second to last creature straight in the head. She spun and turned. Where the hell did the other monster go?
Her eyes went wide. The boy! She spun around and saw the reptile gaining on him. She didn't know if she'd be able to make it in time to save him. But she ran at full speed regardless. She saw the familiar way the creatures body coiled, it's muscles becoming tense, its legs pulled back. "Get out of the way!" She screamed, as the reptile charged, and a few grazing bullets knocked it off course enough not to crash into the boy, and it landed with a thud beside the boy. Finally, Yuna reached him. She shielded him as the monster had regrouped and sprang again. Yuna swung around and hit the reptile with her elbow, leaving a long scratch down her arm with a trickle of blood dripping to the ground. She panted, she had run so fast.. So hard. The adrenaline was waning in her body. She unsteadily threw her arm out, and shot the monster in the head, it fell over with a slump on the ground. "Are there anymore?" She panted, scanning around quickly. The last thing she needed was a sneak attack. She backed up, and looked at the boy. "It's alright. You should be safe. You should go to where more of the populace is.. That way, if the monsters return the Guards can take care of things." She let a soft puff of air escape her lungs. She felt the dizzyness of battle. It had been so long for her. She was rusty. She had to get back into trainers shape. She was lucky the sphere worked so fluidly with her body. "Are you hurt at all?" Yuna knelt down to the boy, he looked to be fairly small. She couldn't believe she was being drawn into all this again. Was this what her life consisted of now? She just wanted a peaceful existence. There was no way that was going to happen.. Not here. IT'S SO HARD TO FORGET SOMEONE WHO GAVE YOU SO MUCH TO REMEMBER

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style,width:150px;] | [atrb=style,width:250px;] However great my fear, I will not turn away if there is love in the end | [cs=2] Inwardly he was cursing his own luck as his body automatically took control in its desperation to avoid being the meal of some reptilian creature. Shade didn't have the chance to philosophically lament his position, nor could he begin to question where he was at he jumped off a rock to land feet first onto a lower level on the cliffs. Narrowly one of the creatures had missed him by only a fraction of an inch, biting a piece off his trademark red jacket as he quickly took in a deep breath of air. All of the danger felt poignantly familiar, it was as if he was running away again from the attack on Edge not too long ago as he jumped off another rock. He mentally gave a small cheer as his feet finally hit the grainy texture of the sand underneath him, and with a fatigued spurt he dashed towards the gates as the strange looking guard signaled an alarm.
Just a little longer he chanted mentally, huffing for silent breaths until the animalistic snarl echoed from behind him. In his foolishness the small boy reacted naturally, turning around fearfully as the spiceaclian jumped and lunged at him into the air. Shade flinched, bringing up his petite arms towards his face in a desperate attempt to shield himself until the unfamiliar sound of bullets pierced through the air. It was all a blur to him as he fluttered a single eye open, watching as magical bullets sung through the air to pierce into the side causing a guttural cry of pain to come from the creature as it landed on the sand with a sickening thud. The sight of the blue blood caused him to visibly tremble, so much that he lost sight as another one of the creatures quickly homed in on him. If it wasn't for the commandeering voice echoing out, he would've easily been bitten to death as his natural instincts and adrenalin kicked in.
He rolled to the side, deftly avoiding the bullets as they pierced into its newest target. Shade attempted to signal the strange heroine, though the boy quickly cursed mentally at his obvious disability to speak. It was all a blur to him, his body barely moving an inch as the strangely heterochromatic eyed woman shielded him from the green creature. Shade sat aghast near his living shelter, though the distinct crimson liquid running down the woman's elbow caused him to bite his lower lip in worry. Her question went vocally unanswered, though the quick tug to the sash indicated that there weren't anymore around. Shade kept his ruby scarlet eyes leveled, his head inclining in the direction to the populace the summoner referred to. Part of him didn't want to leave her though, so far she was one of the first people she met in this strange new world.
He wasn't sure how to answer her question regarding his well-being, the only thing he could do was poke her arm to gain her attention. Should she look, she'd notice the smaller boy "zipping" his lips with his fingers to indicate his inability to speak. Shade cautiously shook his head, signifying that he was alright for the most part. The black-haired boy appeared to be generally rough in appearance, wearing a pair of old sneakers, a torn red-jacket (complementary to the monster earlier), and a pair of worn out faded jeans. Nevertheless he was silently thankful to the stranger, but what he focused on was her wounded elbow as he hovered a hand over the bleeding wound.
Cure. He uttered in his head, activating the familiar spell as a small wave of white magic radiated from his pale hand in ethereal soothing waves. Within a few moments the brunette's elbow began to heal, closing as the bleeding stopped as he continued to cast the spell. At the same time a slew of town guards came approaching the duo, one of them calling out to them as he spoke out in a worried voice. He was a relatively tall and athletic man, a typical guard.
"Oh god that was nerve-wracking, are you two alright? That's the third time already with the monster attacks, it's been like this ever since those... black waves started coming. Chaos is what I think that Academia group called them." | [cs=2] |

TAGGED Shade! WORDS 400 STATUS Finished The boy signaled to her, she could only imagine that it meant one thing only. He couldn't speak, she sighed softly. "Great, I'm stuck with a mute, and Guards that don't know how to prevent monster attacks." She felt the cool sensation rush over her skin, as the skin stitched itself together, the swirl of magic surprised her. She put her hand down to him. "Lets get away from here.. I need to find some answers. You there!" She said to the guard walking up to him confidently. "You said there were three monster attacks... I am assuming you don't have any kind of safety barrier to keep them out." She ground her teeth in frustration. "Look, what the heck is this place? This isn't some part of Spira is it?" She asked, she just wanted answers. That is what was missing. The dimensions. How she was here. And why?!
Yuna knew some of those questions would not be answered right away. It was up to her, she had to decide what role she would have. What her place, "here" meant. For now her only goal was to get this boy into safety. "Well, even if you can't talk, my name is Yuna. I'm gonna find you somewhere safe to go. It's apparently too dangerous in this area." She muttered, she wouldn't let anything happen to any child that she was going to protect. That was how she was. The fighter for the people. How they felt was the most concerning thing to her. And now this boy had that on his side. "Can you write?" She asked, she wanted to know more. How he had gotten there. And if their inability to be able to speak would be impeded, she had to find a quick remedy for that.
She couldn't just guess after all. That would take far too long to get the information that she needed. She turned back around as the Guard was finally clearing his throat to speak. She awaited as much information that he could spare. She wanted to clutch onto the boy just incase he tried to run. She had to make sure of his safety. That was at least the plan. One step at a time. She would take this day by day. She had nothing else she could do.
