(ooc: open topic, someone please join so i don't lose my mind of boredom)
Paine didn't know how long she'd be able to handle this ridiculousness. She'd yet to interact with any sort of sociable creature in this new world. It was getting to be a little much, even for the silent female. She wanted to take a shower...or a hot bath sounded extremely nice too. Paine shook her head internally. Generally she wasn't sociable, or care about the existence of other people, but today, or the past few days for that matter, was a different story all together.
Her hand was resting on her knife hilt, as she continued to walk. It almost appeared as if she was nearing the edge of the jungle she'd been in, but she wasn't sure. She was completely exhausted...like, about to pass out exhausted. And then, like it was a blessing to her, the edge of the jungle was gone, only for a beach with an ocean to appear in front of her. Was...was this real?
Exhaustion set in, as she walked towards the dock that ran out onto the water. Paine's breathing was high, her mind foggy, completely drained from all that had happened. She had attempted to walk on the dock, but walking turned into stumbling, and stumbling turned into Paine passing out on the dock, completely vulnerable. She never did this.

There were times when Serah wondered just who she was these days, because it wasn’t always clear in her mind. She vaguely remembered the “correct” timeline where Lightning had gone missing and she’d set out with a boy from the future, Noel, to set things right again and to bring her sister back home to her. But at the same time, she felt as though she’d slept for an impossibly long time and had only just recently awoken from her slumber. Some people told her she’d actually died, but she had no memory of that… which seemed kind of logical, since dead people couldn’t exactly think… but still. She should’ve remembered something about dying at least, shouldn’t she?
Kicking the sand in frustration, Serah sighed exasperatedly as she paced over New Bodhum’s shoreline. A bunch of kids had ran up to her a few minutes ago calling her ‘Miss Farron’ and asking her when she was going to come back and teach them. What they said sounded right, it sounded familiar somehow, but at the same time she wasn’t sure whether it was some repressed memory trying to come back to her, or just a desire to feel that the world she lived in now was the world she was supposed to live in. A desire to know that everything was right and that she didn’t have to worry about anything from this point onwards. As she wandered, she spotted a strange looking person out of the corner of her eye, but she didn’t pay it any mind for the time being. These days, it wasn’t so strange to see an oddly dressed person walking out of the bushes and asking where they were. It seemed something was definitely wrong, something with the timelines, or just… something. Serah didn’t know either. Nor did she want to think about it right now. It was times like these she missed Cocoon and the simple life she’d lead there. Yes it was only because the fal’cie saw them as pets, but still… it had been a nice life, and nobody could really deny that. Her attention was snapped away from her own thoughts and back to the person she’d spotted earlier when she heard something fall onto the wooden dock just a few steps behind where the pinkette was standing. Her eyes widened when she noticed it was the woman herself who had collapsed, and without any hesitation, Serah hurried over to where she was lying and knelt down next to her, grasping her shoulders and turning the silver haired woman around so she lay on her back.
“Hey, are you alright?” she lightly shook the woman’s shoulders, concern clearly showing in her eyes. This was bad. She needed to get the girl out of the sun and take her someplace to rest up. Looking back over her shoulder, she glanced at her own house, the one she shared with Gadot and the others. It wasn’t… too far from here. Maybe she could try to carry her over there herself, because she didn’t see any of NORA’s members around. Serah let out a deep breath and then nodded firmly to herself. She could do it. She wasn’t as strong as Snow, but she wasn’t a complete weakling either. Yes, she could totally pull this off. Her own words gave her a boost of confidence, and before she knew it, she’d maneuvered the girl around so her arms were wrapped around Serah’s shoulders and her legs were underneath the pinkette’s arms. Alright… now get up.
Getting up with the extra weight strapped to her back proved to be quite the challenge, but after rising up and having to sit back down a few times, she finally managed to haul herself to her feet. “There we go…” she sighed in relief real quickly, and then made her way home. Hopefully the girl was going to be alright…

ALL ABOARD Opportunity is in place, and it might never comeback this way, you better go and get in that train. It's such a view, but it's reserved for just a few. Such the luck for such as who, but who is me and who is you?
For a brief few minutes, Paine had this feeling that she was back in Besaid. It wasn't one of her most traveled destinations in Spira, but it was familiar. The hometown of Yuna was much like her current location; a beach with the constant rhythm of the ocean waves in her ears, a place for relaxation.
But deep in her heart she knew relaxation was the last thing she should be thinking about. It wasn't as if she was conscious, but all these subconscious thoughts were overloading her brain. It was intense what went through Paine's mind, even when she wasn't one that was overly abundant with her words. Without being aware of it, she was lifted and hauled off of the dock, without her permission. Not that permission was something that was totally necessary given the current circumstances, her being passed out on a dock, but it would've been nice. Paine wasn't the most...open or forgiving of people, especially when she was concerned with people she cared about, or her own well being.
She'd been lifted away, unaware of where she was going, but it appeared they were headed towards a dwelling of some sort. Paine would later note with an impressed awe at the female that managed to carry her to her home. Paine wasn't much of anything but muscle, but she did have a lithe frame. The girl was aware that her surroundings had changed a bit, from being outside in the sun to being inside. A few mumbles came from her mouth during the trek indoors. "Rikku....Yuna....,"
were the only real audible words muttered, although no one else would've been aware of what she was talking about. Paine became a bit more conscious as she was inside, being dropped on a surface of some sort. "What the..." She was quick to react, hand instantly going to the knife on her side, grabbing it, chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath from her bout of fear. Knife out, she looked in fear at the female who'd carried her. "Where am I, and who are you?" Probably not the best way to greet someone who had saved her, but she was a little on the intense side in general. (ooc: all is well 590words.) It was going well! So far, nobody had approached her to ask about the woman she was carrying, but perhaps even better… the woman hadn’t woken up yet. Why was that a good thing? Serah wasn’t sure either, maybe it was just the dark, leather outfit that made her worry about her own safety should New Bodhum’s newest arrival wake up on the way home. It was those types of girls that people always warned you about, because they were usually bad news… still, the pinkette would’ve felt bad about just leaving her to rot out there on the docks when she was in a position to help, and she had gotten stronger since travelling with Noel and… yeah, she was just glad the woman remained quiet for now.
As she walked, she heard the other girl mutter something about Rikku and Yuna, but Serah didn’t really pay it any mind for now. Maybe those were friends of hers, if they were names at all. “Almost there…” she mumbled back before stopping for a few seconds to catch a deep breath before she climbed the stairs into the house. It took a while to finally reach the top of the stairs with the added weight of another person weighing her down, and when she finally reached the top, a broad grin replaced the strained look she’d carried before. Was this some sort of big victory? Being able to carry a person up some stairs? Not to most, but to a girl like Serah, who usually relied on others to do the hard stuff for her, this was quite the achievement. The rest of the trip was easy, seeing as she was finally walking on a flat surface once more, but unfortunately, her excitement over having actually made it all the way home lead to her dropping the woman down onto the bed in a rather unceremonious fashion. She’d meant to gently lay her down, but… oh well, she was unconscious anyway-
A panicked shriek escaped her lips as she jumped back a few feet when the woman suddenly reached for a weapon Serah had somehow missed seeing while carrying her back her. With widened eyes, she just stared at the woman for a little while as she took another step backwards, walking right into one of the nightstands in the room. “T-take it easy…” she finally uttered, still somewhat taken aback by her guest’s sudden reaction, “I’m Serah… Serah Farron, and you’re in New Bodhum… on Pulse?” she eyed the knife for a moment and then tried to smile confidently, “There’s no need for that, no one’s going to hurt you.” the young woman kept her hands up as a sign of peace just in case the silver haired lady was still worried about her safety, as she took a step towards the bed, “What’s your name?” ---------------------------------- Words: 477 Tagged: Paine! Such the luck for such as who, but who is me and who is you? She supposed holding hands up was an inter-worldly way of saying you meant no harm...Paine's questions were quickly answered though, thankfully, but registering them was a whole new process. The hand that held her knife was less rigid, more relaxed now, as she held onto the knife almost like a comforting blanket.
"I'm Paine..."
Of all the things she wanted to say, that was all that she could manage at the moment. Paine was quiet, oddly quiet even for her. Her eyes wandered about the room she was in, what she assumed was the house of this woman, Serah. She was surprised she even remembered her name. In comparison, their clothing was quite quite different...Everything was too much of a culture shock right now. "So I'm not in Spira?" She had to take things one at a time...that was all her mind knew to do right now. [/div] template by eliza @ sp & shine
