With a one-shouldered shrug, Reno dug his fanciful-excuse hole even deeper. A little more and it'd be deep enough to cover him head to toe. "Course, it didn't help that I had to get out of the car an' beat up some guy that wouldn't pay the toll. Can ya believe some people?" He added, trying to seem as serious and frustrated as possible, even folding his arms. Mere seconds passed before his expression loosened again, however, and he relented, arms dropping at his sides. "But seriously, sorry if I'm late. No watch an' no map of the park kinda screw with your sense of time." In all honesty, he assumed that if he were really really late she would have left to find another trainer. That was assuming she could find a trainer with Reno's experience, and he genuinely doubted such a thing could be done, even in this hellhole.
As she stood, Reno noticed the smile on her face - one of those absent smiles that he knew wasn't a result of anything he'd said. Well, he sincerely doubted it, anyway. Reno studied her for a moment with a face scrunched into a look of amused scrutiny. "...I'm just gonna be honest - that smile scares me." He admitted to her, scrunching up his chin all detective-like. "It's just got bad things are about to happen written all over it. You didn't go off an' get taught already so you could come an' show me up, did ya?" With a waggle of his eyebrows, he grinned. "'Cause ya just might get disappointed."
He knew she really hadn't, but he could bring up as much anyway. But right! It was teaching and learning time, and Reno's curriculum couldn't wait around all afternoon. Looking back now, picking the heat of the afternoon for this session hadn't been his best idea of all time. Maybe next time he actually needed to wake up at a decent time as opposed to melting in the park grass.
"Alriiiight." Reno chimed as they stepped onto the open grass. "I didn't bring my syllabus, but I got the schedule memorized anyway. For today, lesson one." This would have been a great time to have a chalkboard to turn around and write on. Oh well, he'd make due. "Properly holdin' your weapon of choice." Leaning in like a teacher hovering over his students, Reno held his rod out before him. "Not somethin' everyone thinks about, but in the long run if you're just holdin' your weapon like it's a sack of potatoes or a newborn baby, you're not gonna like how dead ya are later on."
Pacing back and forth with arms folded, he continued on with his overboard classroom-style teacher-ing. "Does everyone have his or her weapon of choice on hand? If so, get it out an' get ready to learn." [/size]

RENO OF THE TURKS HEY THERE, THEY CALL ME RENO AND I'M CURRENTLY 25 YEARS OLD. I'M FROM THE WORLD OF GAIA WHERE I AM A TURK. I GO FOR GIRLS AND I WILL THROW MY WEIGHT BEHIND PSICOM. ------------------------------------------------- Weapon:
Electromagnetic Rod: Reno's preferred weapon is an a rod charged with electromagnetic energy. He can either wield it cold or send the charge through it to stun the target the rod connects with. It's durable enough to hold up against a sword. Reno also carries a handgun on him, but he uses it mostly when the E-M rod isn't practical for the given circumstances.
Abilities:
Piloting: Reno is perhaps best known for being the rather skilled pilot of the Turks' chopper. If he can help it, he's gonna be the one behind the stick and avoid letting anyone else fly.
Hand-to-hand: Being long and thin, Reno doesn't get his blows in through brute force like his partner Rude. Instead, Reno relies on being fast and nimble, and to people's surprise, on knowing a decent bit about martial arts. He's not a master combatant or anything of the sort, but he does know how to put an entire array of kicks and blows to good use to take down an opponent. He's good enough to hold out decently against a Remnant of Sephiroth in a straight fight.
Marksmanship: While it's not what he's known for, Reno isn't a bad shot when he puts his mind to it. It's just that he's too dang lazy to keep practicing his shot constantly, making him an above average marksman.
Tech Savvy: Reno's no computer genius, but he did get his foot in the door of the Turks partially because he knows his way around most devices a person will find in the intelligence field. Throw a computer in front of him and he can probably do whatever he's needed to.
Personality: Reno is, first and foremost, a lazy, laid-back bum. It's just in his genes, for whatever reason. He's the kind of guy that would sleep until three in the afternoon if no one was around to wake him up, possibly because he was out having a drink or flirting the night before. He has no interest in participating in an action that will be any trouble to him unless it's a Turk assignment or something that he has to do to stay alive. Often, it seems like the only part of his life that he takes excessive care in is his work for Shinra. The rest he just might BS his way through.
Otherwise, he's arrogant. Noticeable so. He's constantly making a wisecrack, dropping a line to a lady, or otherwise doing something that makes him seem like the most annoying ass in the world. Heck, even the rest of the Turks want to shove his head into a blender every now and then. But, somehow, he can make it all seem kind of smooth with his slow drawl and way of speaking. He's got a way of almost forcing others to like him, and probably comes off as the most likable of the Turks in some way. And he's definitely not a bad guy in the slightest, willing to help out an old enemy who turned out to be the hero. Plus, he'd probably be willing to throw himself in front of a train for the rest of the Turks. And President Shinra, for that matter.
Surprisingly, he's got a fire in his belly that only really shows up when he's got someone to fight. In combat, he can be pretty reckless, just attacking when an insult or something similar motivates him to. And he's no idiot, either. Reno has a way of reading people, can make some pretty good arguments every now and again, and is bright enough that he's been the second or third in command of the Turks for a long, long time, which is no small feat. In essence, Reno's a brilliant, capable guy under that slob of an outer shell.
History: Not too much is known about Reno (whose last name is a mystery, due to his role as a Turk) before he showed up at Shinra headquarters looking for some kind of a job back when he was sixteen years old. There really isn't too much to tell. He was born under the plate in Midgar, but he'd never really know who his parents were since they left him at an orphanage when he was only a year old. With really nothing to his name through the early part of his life, Reno pretty much lived from meal-to-meal in the orphanage. When the orphanage shut down when he was eleven years old, though, Reno had to figure out a way to keep himself alive. Stealing provided food, and causing trouble with other children from the orphanage at least gave him something to do. He developed a knack for out-running angry store-owners.
He spent the next five years like this before some of his friends got caught. Reno kept it up for a while, but after accidentally walking right into a super-secret mission sponsored by Shinra he got an idea to make his situation a little better. Paying his way up to the plate, a spindly sixteen year old Reno waltzed right up to Shinra headquarters and asked for a job. He got a job helping out the custodians at first before he was recognized for doing good work. He then became a mechanic on the Shinra chopper and later on became a test pilot for that chopper. When he was eighteen, he was offered a chance to undertake Shinra combat training, which he did. Though he was renowned for his laziness and attempts (some successful) to sleep with all of the female trainees, Reno received excellent marks and was offered a position on the Turks, the Shinra President's personal black ops squad, once he was twenty years of age. Another year and he was third-in-command.
Then came the anti-Shinra group, AVALANCHE. Reno was assigned to deal with them, as were all of the Turks. He saw some combat with AVALANCHE while the terrorist group tried to blow up a mako reactor, and even helped out his pal and fellow Turk, Rude, figure out that his girlfriend was with AVALANCHE.
Later on, during the Genesis Army incident, Reno shows up with Rude, Tseng, and Cissnei in order to stop the assault in Sector 8, with Reno telling the SOLDIER Zack Fair that he's in 'Turks turf'. He's not really seen for the rest of the incident, likely working behind the scenes. After Genesis' death, he and Rude attempt to rescue Zack from the Shinra army sent to kill him. Unfortunately, they don't make it in time, leaving Reno with a ton of letters from Aerith Gainsborough that Zack was meant to read.
After this, Reno is part of the squad sent to capture that same young lady, Aerith, from the Sector 5 church due to Sephiroth's interest in her and her apparent involvement with AVALANCHE. Mainly working with Rude, Reno ends up fighting AVALANCHE multiple times during Sephiroth's reign of terror, though he and his partner are defeated on numerous occasion by Cloud Strife, Zack Fair's old friend and the man hunting Sephiroth, and his party. Reno ends up helping that same party once in order to save another Turk, Elena, but ultimately he shows a willingness to follow the President's orders to the fullest.
After Sephiroth's apparent defeat, the Turks are tasked with recovering Jenova, Sephiroth's 'mother' essentially, in the northern crater where Sephiroth was defeated. However, they find more than they bargain for as the Remnants of Sephiroth attack them, taking Elena and Tseng hostage. Reno and Rude manage to escape without injury, looking to recover their teammates by working with Cloud and his group against the Remnants. They end up assisting Cloud extensively once the Remnants attack Edge, looking for Jenova's head, though Reno gets his ass handed to him by the Remnant Yazoo before he and Rude blow up the road to give Cloud a chance to take on the Remnant leader one-on-one.
Tseng and Elena manage to keep them from blowing themselves up, and all four Turks, though beaten and bruised, return to duty after the Remnant incident.
