Why did he always end up in such predicaments such as this? He should have never awoken from his slumber... at least Vincent felt that way some of the time. The other's he was pleased with how things turned out. That rat was finally taken out. Hopefully for good. But what he needed to know now was, where the hell was he?? This place was completely foreign. He happened to wake up in this place early, as soon as the sun had risen. It was now midday, and he still knew nothing. He would have to find someone... Surely, they would know of 7th Heaven. If he could get back there, he could get back to the others and share this very strange experience with them. This had to have been some sublet of Shinra. He growled softly deep in his throat. To what ends will they not stoop to.. He thought things like that was over now. After everything had happened...
His deep red eyes glanced around the surroundings. His tattered cloak swept up behind him with the wind. The golden claw on his hand clenched, and the metal clinking as he walked with each step. His long black hair hung down his back in thick blankets, he looked as if he hadn't aged a day since the day he had met them all... Mainly because he just hadn't. Inside of him was the living incarnation of Chaos. It was probably going to take a long time for him to get the handle on that. Perhaps in a hundred years from now... He sighed audibly, walking into one of the shops. Patrons were milliing about. How were they going to know where he needed to go.
He tapped one lady on the shoulder, and she jumped back in fright as she had never seen anyone like Vincent before. He apologized, and asked his question. This went on for a while, and he looked rather confused leaving. He just wandered, with a confused look on his face. "Gran Pulse.. Where the hell.. How the hell did I get here. I need to get some answers." He looked up at the Academy, and figured the biggest building in the city was usually where most of the information was kept. He just wanted to find out what was going on. He sighed when he looked all the people. Perhaps if he was lucky, he'd bump into someone who at least looked familiar.

What was this place? Another world swarming with humans wandering about like worthless cattle. Hungering for more power when they had none to harness. It sickened her how mindless and how carefree these humans lived their lives. And at first it made her want to blow them all up just to prove that their power was nothing in comparison to a witch of time.
No she was too intelligent to cause commotion in a unfamiliar place, if she could infiltrate politics before, then she could do it once more all she needed was a few well placed spells and this world could become her new vessel of omnipotent existence, this time there were no SeeD's to stop her as far as she was concerned.
Ultimecia had come to the conclusion that after that final battle her time compression must have sent her to another world. The place was too different to be anywhere in her time or in the past and even the people seemed different. As she watched people pas by her many did not hide their curiosity. Her feet barely grazed the ground as the wind rushed by pushing back her dress and revealing the heavily tattooed legs while the plunging neckline left little to the imagination and even the bare skin was laden with the colorful art.
She payed them no mind, she was far to superior and as one man approached her she pushed passed him not pausing to even glance at him as he fell. She was here on a mission and given a second chance, perhaps she wouldn't need to absorb this world, but turn the people into her slaves.
What did catch her eye was a glint of gold and a red cape disappearing inside one of the various building. At first she hesitated to enter, the place did not look of her taste it was appalling that people thought such a place could be used as meeting grounds-- these people had no taste at all.
As her contempt grew for the people she edged closer until she was standing just in front of the doors. But as she saw him about to leave she sidestepped and followed him with her gaze. She didn't remain hidden as he looked up she drifted toward him till she was a mere meter away her yellow eyes bright with curiosity. She could sense a deep conflict within his hear it was evident in his eyes and it only made her Griever give a low growl in her mind.
'Yes my pet he would make a useful knight.'
She did not speak she recognized that this man was not of this place, he looked different. Perhaps she had misplaced more than just herself in this world; perhaps there was some vital information she was not aware of, but this man may know.
“Tell me, what is this place?”
Whether he knew or not it did not matter, a simple answer could tell her so much about a person; she was perceptive and if she were to convince this man to join her side; she would need to pick at his brain. Seifer was a child and was a simple almost pathetic task to convince him onto her side a little mind magic, but this man she sense was far more wise than he looked... yes he would be a great asset. (because Vincent has Chaos I don't think generic sorceress spells such as the fascination spell used on the crowd would work because he's a vessel for more than one 'minds' it just seems to make more sense that way lol.)

As he had turned to leave, a flickering flash of yellow eyes grew in his peripherals. Before she spoke, he could feel her. His blood red eyes slid to the side. "Is there a circus in town?" He said with a casual glance around. He'd never seen such drastic make up in all of his life. What the hell had he missed when he was sleeping. "I don't know what this place is. They said it was Gran Pulse. Whatever that is. I was trying to get some answers, but it seems not everyone knows what is going on." His voice held a husky tone, he clenched his fist slowly.
"I take it your not from around here, eh, clown lady?" He didn't know what else to call her. From now on her name could have might as well be Clown lady. He was such a smart ass sometimes. But he couldn't get his kicks anywhere else. He had been through his fair share of battles. Would it be like this here? This wasn't really his fight after all. He figured, maybe even some of his friends would end up here. He would have to leave this continent, and look for more meager means. Tifa and Cloud he doubted would not be caught dead in this place, unelss they were simply trying to get something delivered. Tifa he figured would do something drastic if she was here. The fact that the place wasn't smoking or crumbling, he figured that she didn't reside in this place. This was much too much like Shinra, even for his tastes.
He started to brush ahead, taking slow calculated steps. Knowing the woman was watching him. Possibly quite furious at his little teasing outburst. It didn't really matter did it? Whatever it was causing this, seemed deeply personal to him. Something inside of him was bubbling, rising. It was the Chaos gene. Why did it feel so connected to this. He had no idea, but he'd have to get to the bottom of it. "Are you just gonna stand there and stare at me, or do you not have questions of your own?" He tilted his head around his shoulder, slowly. Casting the one eye that was visible, the other was covered by his long black hair. His hand rested on the hilt of Cerebus. No matter what was going to happy, at least he was prepared.

The piercing yellow of her eyes never left his face and even though the mockery made them narrow slightly she was far too superior to show any form of contempt. No... that anger she had saved for those pathetic scum SeeD.
Grand Pulse? It did not sound familiar, in fact she didn't believe such a place existed, but her hands slid down the smooth velvet of her dress and she floated above the ground one leg crossed as if she was on an invisible chair.
"Pulse? No, but neither are you."
Yes he looked nothing like the civilians she passed, some people walking by Ultimecia and this man couldn't help but stop and stare. At first she ignored it, but her hovering above ground seemed to create whispers. At first she paid it no mind, but after a while she turned towards all of them eyes narrowing and after a few seconds they dispersed. It was much like the fascination spell she used on the Gabadians only this time she sent them away, once they were far enough it would probably cease to work.
"A klown? I think the klown here is the one who kannot kontrol his beast."
She didn't have to know who he was, she could see it stir within his eyes, a beast powerful enough maybe to rival her Griever, but could this man overpower her... no she didn't see it happening she was the witch of time... she was the closest thing to godship.
"Kome now... I kan help. I kan give you the kontrol you desire, the strength you need to kontain it."
The many tattoo's running up and down her body gave a faint ominous glow, he had no idea how strong he was. How easy it would be to freeze time and stop his bullets from reaching her. How simple it would be to summon her Griever to rip his heart out from his chest, but no she did not want to harm him she wanted him as her knight.
"What is your name?"
Did she care? Not so much, but if she was going to have him by her side, then at least she should figure out who he was and what it was that seemed to be changing the look in his eyes.
Ultimecia did not want to fight, in this new world she needed to be smart, she needed to use her mind to manipulate the children of this world and turn them into her slaves. She would rule just as she did in her time; and this man could be by her side. Yes... she could see the darkness inside his hear, she could feel it. Now she would use it to get him on her side.

Vincent shook his head. He didn't know what to make of this woman. He could tell she was poisonous. But wasn't sure if someone like that should be left on their own. But did he really want to get wrapped up in this amount of crazy? It wasn't like it hadn't happened before. Define crazy, the muse inside of his head drifted. "No, I am not from Pulse. Nor do I have any good information on the reasons why, either. Why I am here, that is." He said in a gruff tone. Every step he made, it seemed like this woman followed. Was this going to be the cause of this? Was she really going to trail him like a lost puppy. Vincent finally stopped and faced the woman. "I suppose if your not from here, you couldn't lead me to a place with a good red wine." He sighed in sadness. "Too bad too." He said just making idle chatter, before he began to answer any of her questions.
A wry smile fell on his lips. His gaze turned down to his golden gauntlet. His fingers clutched metalically. "Who says I have problems controlling anything. Don't you find that the least bit contradictory. How is it you can possibly know what I have inside of me." He said with a dark look. He didn't quite understand where this woman was coming from. How could she possibly know that he struggled being one with Chaos. It made his skin want to crawl. He shuddered lightly and cringed a bit at the implication. This clown lady really wasn't going to leave him alone. He just figured he'd deal with it head on!
He chewed over for a few moments. How dangerous was it to give his name. Since this place was new for him, and her. He supposed if he mentioned his name, it wouldn't be such a travesty. He doubted anyone around would know him by name. Let alone bother him about it. Not that he was truly worried about that. He just didn't didn't want her lengthy nails to be dug into them so deep that he couldn't get out. Though, he had to admit, she was at least interesting. Perhaps, he could do something more amusing with this one. He just wasn't sure about that yet. "My name.. It's Vincent Valentine. What mights yours be?" He wasn't one to really be formal. He stood stiffly, not at all relaxed with this situation.
He did wonder just what kind of powers that she had. He could use materia. And had even brought some along with him. Mainly used for safe keeping, and hidden. He knew what a kleptomaniac Yuffie was with Materia. He knew she would make it here, she was far too stubborn to actually up and die on him. Though, she seemed so full of herself. Did she mention she was a reaper of time. Or was that something he was imagining. He just couldn't remember. For now, he kept on the defensive. Just in case she tried to decide to show that 'crazy' side of her! [/style] |

Ultimecia was one who loved to prod the sleeping bear; only because with a swipe of her wrist the bear could easily be decapitated. Deep down she knew this man was strong and that was only reason she was giving him the time of day.
The mention of red wine sparked a glow in her eyes; if there was one thing she loved more than destroying SeeD it would be the luxury she indulged in and fine wine; she was somewhat of a connoisseur herself. A snap of her fingers back in her world and she could have the finest wine from her cellar.
What amused her the most was the anger she could almost see he said she was contradictory, but what did he know of contradictions? She could see it; deep down a beast that was caged... maybe Ultimecia could set this beast free and he would be a far better advesary than Vincent Valentine, but she knew she would need a stable mind and so she would have to convince both this man and his beast.
"What do you know of kontradictions? I kan see it in the krevices of your mind it's trying to take over; a mortals eyes never lie."
Ultimecia drifted a but closer her yellow eyes pouring into his red ones and she couldn't help but cock her head to the side and smile cynically.
"Griever is not in kontrol of my mind, I kreated him and I kan kontrol him. I can teach you how Vincent... I kan show you how to be his master not to live in fear that he kan take over."
It was easy for her to speak it was so natural to talk to people, to manipulate them into going her way, but she knew she would have to go slow not to press on or he would be able to sense the corruption in her words.
"I am the Sorceress of Time; I am Ultimecia."
Ultimeia didn't want to alert him; if anything she knew he was just as alone as she was and she could tell that he was from a completely different world than her own and this one, he must be needing companionship to find his friends or the people he knew. Ultimecia wondered if that could be how she could lure him in; provide a means of companionship to support him in finding those he needed, but before he would find them she would be sure to have him convinced on her side by then.
Ultimecia could hear the protective growl of Greiver and she mentally hissed for him to quiet down.
"Do not worry Griever he will not harm me my pet."
She didn't need to speak outloud, but it was a way to prove to Vincent that he wasn't the only one with a beast in his mind. Directing her attention back to Vincent she tried to calculate what his next move was, but he wasn't predictable like SeeD's she had no idea what world he came from and what ideals they had, but either way she swore to try and figure this man out.

Pollutant stench filled the air as the sound of the busy city life resonated throughout all of Academia. Seeing the other humans take advantage of such industrialization somewhat annoyed Mateus and the city was less than impressive. Mateus was looking for a new base of operations as he had with Palamecia back on his home world, or like Edge of Madness was back on World B. Regardless of where he existed now, they would eventually come under his rule. Extermination would take place at the city once he seized control and only he would determine who would live and who would die, and for The Emperor he knew that time would come soon. Care not he did for the lives of the rich nor the poor, perhaps he thought this way because of the wild powers of Satan and Abburoth inside of him? Maybe, but the unfortunate wyverns of Deist back on his world was proof enough that he ruled life and death even before absorbing the gods of his world.
The Gold and Purple royal armor distinguished The Emperor from the rest. In the city he would definitely stick out like a soar thumb. Regardless, he cared not of whom would recognize him. There were far too many citizens around the area and the Heroes always loved to avoid casualties. Perhaps the city would make a good place to start as it was huge, taking it over would be the easy part. Despite the Emperor's planning he had no army, he had no Hellspawn currently to aid him nor any Manikins. The Emperor would have to fall back on his good old friend, manipulation. Fooling governments and capitals was a breeze back on his world, he even managed to fool the likeness of Chaos and The Great Will back on World B. Was there no competence within these people?
As he wandered the streets he came across two others that stuck out as much as he did. If they were from outside like he, the following encounter would be interesting. However if they were just commoners... he would have fun getting information out of them. Mateus approached the two and as he did, the familiarity of one struck him. With his never-changing glare on he walked to the side of the Sorceress Ultimecia. "Sorceress Ultimecia, it is always a pleasure." Mateus complimented to his old companion. His gaze was then cast upon the one cloaked in red. "I see you're entertaining a new ..guest." The Emperor of Hell was unsure if the one she was addressing was either friend or foe. It seemed he had some sort of power dwelling inside of him, but it was nothing for Mateus to worry about.
If Ultimecia was keen on getting her new guest on joining her, Mateus would lend a hand. After all, the more allies Mateus had the more easier it would be to wipe out cities at the blink of an eye. You could say that The Emperor was happy to see the Sorceress, during the Cycle of the Gods on World B they schemed to the end. Most likely it would thrill her to hear what the Emperor has in plan for the new world that they both now reside on. "Carry on, I wouldn't want to interrupt anything." Obviously he was lying, but the regality in his voice could best people.

Vincent stiffened when she mentioned he could see the beast inside of him. He hoped that it really wasn't the case. Somewhere inside of him he worried slightly. "I do just fine on my own. I am strong enough to keep my afflictions at bay." He murmured a bit more forceful to himself than anyone else. He just needed to find out how to get back. The stress of this place was making his head hurt. Or perhaps, the riddles she was spinning were it.
He looked down at her surprised. "Why would I do something to hurt you. You must just be passing by after all." He said with tightly clenched teeth. The words had finally sunk in. "What do you mean a sorceress of time. What does that mean, exactly?" His eyes looked more than confused. He didn't understtand how one person could manipulate time. "You mean like the magical capabilities to spin time at your will? Or silly little tricks like 'slow?' " He wanted to know how formidable this woman truly was.
When the one dressed and cloaked in purple showed his face, Vincent stiffened. Purposely resting his hand on the hilt of his gun. He didn't quite know what to think about the Sorceress of time. But this man, seemed just as strange. First a clown, now a poof. What was he going to do in this situation. He really needed to get a cell phone. "I do not think I need your help, Sorceress." He said with his eyes fiery and alive. Was this a trap? Was he going to have to leave abruptly? Or was it something else. Did she need him. The prospect had merit. "And what is it you want?" He might as well ask the abrupt questions. He just wanted to get everything out of the way. He didn't like secrets, he only held his own close.. However contradicting that sounded, it was just the easy way to travel. [/style] |

She had not been speaking to this Vincent for very long, but he was already starting to bore and as he picked up on her speaking to Griever her eyes narrowed in and she coked her head to the side amused. He didn't seem familiar with the term and so she assumed they didn't have sorceresses in their worlds... how weak. Her interest in this man was slowly evaporating and it showed in her bored almost dismissive tone.
“You wouldn't understand my power; no use explaining to someone klearly inkompetant--” Se had been about to continue, but was cut off by a regally dressed man There was a feeling of nostalgia for her, but she couldn't quite recognize him. What made her raise a brow was the manner in which he addressed her, as if they had met before... like an ally. Ultimecia had no recollection of this man, but perhaps he had heard of her from another world. Still, he seemed so... familiar.
“I am not quite familiar with how you know me, but this man is not an ally. I was just trying to figure out if he was of use or a pest.”
He was leaning toward the latter and she considered disposing of him; however how did she know this other man was not putting on a front. Griever growled in her head, but she did not need to summon him... not yet at least.
“I'm leaning towards the latter...”
Her voice was low and sinister, calculating and there was even a hint of amusement which flashed across her features for a brief second before being taken over by a menacing snarl.
“And who might you be?”
While this new man was in her peripheral Ultimecia did not keep her eyes off of Vincent. She would give him another opportunity to reconsider her offer, but that would be her last and usually one too many. Ultimecia was curious if this would turn into her having to waste time using her strength in battle. It had been some time, but she was more than willing to exercise her magic.
“How do you know who I am?”
Even though there were more pressing matters at hand; Ultimecia was curious as to how someone so foreign looking at yet 'familiar' knew her. As far as she could remember this was the only foreign interaction she had, but alas there seemed to be someone who knew differently. In Intrigued her to know that there was the possibility that this was not the first time she visited a foreign world and she mentally smirked conceitedly about her own power; unaware that it was in fact not her time compression. Still, she was thirsty for knowledge, but throughout her mental rambling she never lost sight of Vincent and the new man in her peripheral.

Now things started to get more interesting. Not only did the man in red seem a little more ...hostile, but Ultimecia did not remember who Emperor Mateus was. Perhaps he had given Shinryu a little less credit? The Black Crystal that was produced by Jecht was probably what preserved Mateus' memory. Though it would not hinder him by any means necessary and the amnesia would prove to help him. He addressed the cloaked man first. "Perhaps you should reconsider your offer, often it is not that such willpower presents itself to you. To command that lies deep within, possibly a dark sin that stains your soul? Is that not what you wish?" Questioned Mateus before he moved his attention back to the Sorceress. "The Battle of the Gods was not kind to your memory, it's a pity." Both of his feet rose off the ground as he floated forward a tiny bit. Gracefully Mateus landed on the ground again. "In due time The Great Will may be kind enough to restore what you have once lost, or a simple spark may be in order." And then the Emperor slightly mocked, "Or that Time-Compression of yours decided to suppress some of your mind?"
Emperor Mateus' staff floated to his right hand as he pointed it to the sky. "I am Emperor Mateus of Palamecia." If Mateus never announced himself grandly, than what kind of Emperor was he? "Many do not forget my name, I make sure of that." To his enemies that would sound like a threat, however he was using it in a more friendly term this time around. Once again his eyes were set onto Vincent, if he truly was a pest he might have to be exterminated. If there was any use of him to them his loyalty would have to be proven. "As for you, again. It only takes fine-tuning from those that know how to rule to take care of your little.. problem. Even if you were to walk, would it not come back to haunt you?" The Emperor was only going off what he could assess from the situation. "Once you have a taste of control, you too would know how it feels." Maybe the Emperors words were tempting, maybe they weren't.
A good silver tongue was a great assistance in any situation. Those who lived in ignorance and wished to be that of a 'lone wolf' usually took his words with a pinch of salt. Appeasing to street rats and would-be rebels was an annoyance. Most of the unwanteds had to be put down, or shown an amount of force. To dominate this ones mind would be quite the interesting challenge and he would rather not have to lift a finger, though as they say sometimes you had to get things done yourself.

But over confidence, he couldn't help but chuckle. "I don't think it's incompetance. I think I understand quite well what you mean. You use magics, but you specialize in time, so if I struck, it would have to be a complete surprise to you." His non chalant shrug, made him seem much more bored of them, than they were of him. This other person who came up, seem to know this woman. and explained thusly how he knew of her. What did Vincent care? The irritation ground on his nerves. Especially the pompous self proclaimed Emperor. Did things really work like that around here? Or was he lost in time as well.
None of it really mattered. He just scowled at the woman who was now facing this Emperor. He made a noise of disgust. "As much as I would love to stay and chat about making the human race our slaves and such, I have much better things to do. That do not include subjugation, thank you." He said abruptly, and stalking off. Where had he met these strange people. He wondered if that was goading her enough so he could see this magic of hers in action. He still had his materia.. He had magic also. He didn't know how her specific kind of skills, but he was curious to find out just what her reaches were. The Emperor he wasn't worried about, as he seemed to defer to her anyway.
He wondered if she would pursue, attack or let him go. Either way, he'd walk away unscathed, or fighting this sorcerer of time. Or perhaps even both of them. Unpredictable people warrant unpredictable things. He could tell the darkness inside of her. Just because he had the same thing inside of him. That was probably the initial reason... He shook his head. He would not be an ally for evil. He just needed to find his friends. [/style] |
