Weapon: Nunchaku - Strange Vision
Selphie's nunchaku is oversized, almost comically so, weapons, being nearly double the size of normal nunchucks. Despite the size of these weapons and her natural clumsiness, she handles them with surprising grace and speed, easily throwing out one of the handles with deadly accuracy.
The weapon in question has red rods equipped with claw-like ends, three points on each, a point going out with two points curved inward and the two handles connected with a blue chain. The middle point has a gold band around it where it connects to the rest of the claw and the portion where it's connected has two gold buttons where it's held in place.
Abilities: Para-Magic: One of the basics next to weapon training taught to those studying in Gardens such as Balamb, Galbadia or Trabia. Selphie specializes in Wind magic and has the following spells stocked:
Guardian Force: One of the things that only SeeDs have access to for training in with rumors about it causing memory loss. The orphan gang from the rocky coast can attest to this being true due to their relatively recent regain of memory of their past at the orphanage. Selphie appeared in this strange new world with the whispers of Doomtrain in her mind.
Personality: Selphie... To describe Selphie, one must have an accurate vocabulary to accurately explain who and what she is. Sadly, I do not have this vocabulary, but I shall still do my best for this.
To start her off, what you need is some sugar, cinnamon, mint and caffiene. This brunette is cheerful, bubbly and full of cuddles. If you have a frown on your face, she'll do her best to turn that it upside down. She works hard at what she does and loves every minute of it. Parties are her thing and making people laugh is what she lives for.
The next ingredients are cajun spice and trains. Selphie is pretty full of spunk as well and has more than a fondness for trains. When she appeared on this strange new land, she had only one Guardian Force left within her mind - Doomtrain. She speaks with him frequently as well as often demands rides from him, utterly convinced that he can be used as a form of locomotion.
The final ingredients are odd: A hammer, more caffeine and chicobos. These ingredients are the final bits that make up the tinkerer, dark humor and adorable sections of this Gambler. If one needs to make a system full of blinking lights, buttons and monitors short circuit, simply allow Selphie to man the helm and she will definitely find a way to make it stop, all the while making jokes about this or that.
History: Selphie was born to what one would hope and assume to be loving parents, but some unknown event at an unknown age she was orphaned, the how being entirely unknown to Selphie, who now standing at 19 years of age. She was at the orphanage on that rocky coast for a few years, gaining friendships with the other children that lived there until she was adopted by absolutely doting parents. After being adopted, she was home schooled for a short period of time until she was enrolled at Trabia Garden.
The bubbly brunette found and junctioned her first Guardian after finding it stored away within a monster she had defeated, though the name is utterly lost on her, so many years later. This summon was the one that fed off her childhood memories and caused them to be lost to her for so many years. The Trabian was enrolled for many years at her beloved home where she made so many friends because of her loving and outgoing personality then transferred when she was 17 to Balamb Garden to undertake the SeeD exam and eventually also took over the Garden Festival, something she missed when she transferred to the new academy.
Long story short after transferring, she met a majority of our party from the Final Fantasy VIII world at the academy, namely Squall, Zell and Quistis. Selphie took the SeeD exam, part of Squad A, and it was going to be easy peasy as they had to only make sure that the perimeter was secure - nothing to it, right? To make a long story short: Um. No. Missing leader. Giant-ass spider. Almost crushed. Barely not thrown out of Garden. But passed! Now a SeeD! Happy dances all around and time for bar hopping!
From there things got... interesting. They were recruited to liberate an oppressed town - that got weird with time-travelling dreams, horrible paint jobs and an undead body double of a President. Then they got to try to shut down the first television broadcast in seventeen years which resulted in a catastrophe and their successful attempt to get to the nearby Garden. From there, their happy little party passes out in a forest, amazingly don't get eaten by monsters and watch another entertaining episode of the Laguna Show. This time-travel trip was an odd one - apparently somehow they got lost and Esthar troops were involved... They were
so futuristic-looking!! And... and Ward got hurt. While Selphie adored and crushed on Laguna, seeing them jump from that cliff and hearing that Ward got hurt... It.. Needless to say, Selphie did not sleep well after that.
Then... When they got to Galbadia Garden, they were debriefed, and informed of Seifer's... trial. Things weren't glossed over and they were informed that he was most likely going to be executed. Shockingly they also found out that Rinoa dated Seifer for a short period and it was he who had introduced her to Cid to get the help she needed in Timber. When they tried to leave, the Headmaster, known as Master Martine, decided he had to have words with them. That was where things really got interesting - they were instructed, well ordered, really, to kill a sorceress with the assistance of one very attractive sharpshooter. It was a simple and straightforward order, really: assassinate the sorceress to prevent her from being a global threat. Easy peasy right? Only hiccup is that she's more versed in magic, yes? Hmm...
From there they go to Deling City and split into two groups: Selphie, Quistis and Zell; Squall, Rinoa and Irvine. Selphie's team has the really easy part: Trap the sorceress. That wasn't too bad. So, they went to Deling, met and got briefed by General Caraway. Er. Correction: Rinoa's
father General Caraway. That, uh... wound up being an extremely awkward meeting with Rinoa screaming at her dad and storming out. Then, um, Selphie's team got locked in the house. That, ah, was extremely, um, inconvenient. Thankfully, Quistis' sharp eyes found a "secret" passage and, after some stressful sewer navigation (which weren't all that smelly surprisingly). Finally, they got to their position and shut the doors on the sorceress. Aaaand it all went to hell from there. Irvine missed the shot and Squall and his party challenged her and failed. Selphie's heart almost stopped when she heard Rinoa's scream. She just... It was soul wrenching and to never hear a sound like that again, it would be too soon.
Selphie's team was captured as they were trying to get away. They were as careful as they could possibly be, but somehow the guard in the area spotted them and threw Sleep at them and were knocked stone-cold. When she awoke, she found that everyone was in prison. Specifically D-District Prison with all it's gorgeous amenities, including a magic-dampening field. But after some talking with Zell about his dream world visit and finding that Ward worked in their same exact prison, they worked on coming up with plans for escape. she was determined nonetheless to ensure that everyone was in good spirits. Her own mood was tested when some human workers came in to harass them, beating on Zell until Rinoa stopped them by reminding them they were looking for her. She was escorted out to make them stop beating on her friend. From there, to attempt lightening the mood after Rinoa was taken, she attempted drawing Cure from Zell. That was when a Moomba appeared with food.
The furred beast carrying a bit of food when it tripped, causing a clatter and the bullysome human guard to come in and kick the creature around. Annoyed and determined to assist it, Selphie used one of her Cures and it healed a tiny amount, barely anything, but it gained it's trust in them - one of the very few humans to actually want to
help it.
From there, after some personal time with the Moomba, the Moomba followed Zell out to get their weapons so they could fight their way out of the prison. Not really the smartest idea, but there wasn't much choice for them. They had to get out and get to their Garden. From there, to make a long story short, she, Zell and Quistis fought their way out after a very brief encounter with Biggs and Wedge, a pair of old friends they had encountered several times before.
From there at the Prison they fled, barely managing to get out of there with everyone in tow with Irvine driving the getaway vehicle. After being a safe distance away, they get out and discuss a plan of action. Then they hear a strange screeching sound overhead and look up. Missiles are in the sky. And heading ominously toward Trabia.
Heart breaking as she know what will happen, Selphie demands to lead the party heading to the missile silos while the others go to warn Balamb Garden. Things get interesting from there once again. Selphie and her team go to the silos and kick some ass and destroy some consoles while they're there, as well as comfort a dying man with memories of his family, using some of their precious time to escape to give him peace of mind.
From there, they get outside, get confronted by a war machine of some sort which they disable and commandeer after the two drama llamas that were with her calmed down. Soon they were on the front lines to a sleepy little place called Fisherman's Horizon where they were pitted against their friends. From there, they got freed, found out that their home had suffered major damage from ramming into the place known affectionately as "FH". Although down about her home, she, with Rinoa and the others' help, however, set up a "Make Squall Smile" concert otherwise disguised as a way of celebrating his promotion to Commander. Of course, everyone else was invited as well, but not many people showed.
From there, a tearful and heart-wrenching visit to Trabia. What she found there she never saw even in her nightmares and is too hard to think about. Children. Classmates. Friends. Family. They're... they...
A reunion on the basketball court dredged up old memories that they all, save Rinoa of course, thanks to Irvine who, apparently, had never once Junctioned a Guardian Force. Well, that certainly proved the rumors correct but it would never be published because it was one of SeeD's greatest assets and if it were confirmed that people were losing their memory from use of the creatures, they would be banned or some such.
So, to speed along from there, they go to the orphanage from their vague memories, things come back to light and a tearful reunion from all, save Squall of course, who was simply: "Oh god, I grew up with these idiots? That explains a lot of things..." Then they realized who Sorceress Edea was: their caretaker and beloved Matron.
So they visit the Centra region, almost get to the orphanage when they are attacked by Galbadia Garden. After splitting up into teams, they fight their way through Galbadia Garden and then confront Edea. One difficult, victorious fight later and they're all unconscious. All wake, save Rinoa, who appears comatose and Edea starts talking oddly. Something about a super sorceress from the future who took over her body who is fighting to take over the world via Time Compression which would result in only her surviving so she can recreate the world in her image. Squall gets concerned and wants to find his sister Ellone to cure Rinoa. Everyone manages to find Edea's secret SeeDs, the White SeeD, they find that Ellone is in a rather xenophobic location: Esthar.
So... Squall gets angsty and makes a majority of this trip on his own with Rinoa on his back after docking at FH. No one had any idea he was going to do this until a couple of days later when everyone races off to find them using the Garden where they guilt trip him for not trusting him. They find Esthar, talk with a really odd doctor by name of Odine who speaks of a way to cure her. They find Ellone is on the Lunar Base. Squall heads out there with Rinoa, with Selphie staying on earth to help watch Edea, nervous as well that she may be repossessed by Ultimecia.
Suddenly there's a structure moving toward Esthar! Selphie and friends fight to get aboard it but fail and thus wait to see what happens. Suddenly there's a return of Squall, Rinoa in tow, with the aforementioned Commander piloting a draconic airship. Selphie immediately takes a liking to it and declares herself pilot. Then she immediately pilots them away from Esthar to the orphanage to evade capture. Queue adorable sounds and cheers as Squall and Rinoa become official. Then they go back to Esthar willingly as the Estharian President calls them back, Selphie's fangirl insides going crazy as it's Sir Laguna doing so. Along the way Selphie shares news that she has Junctioned a new Guardian Force that was not allied with them previously: Doomtrain. Explanation of him later.
Once they're there, they're quickly briefed to take down Ultimecia and head off to Lunatic Pandora to defeat Sorceress Adel. They fight against Fujin and Raijin then later on Adel herself who apparently was given Rinoa by Seifer. From there... Time Compression. Everyone barely survives it but thankfully the spell takes forever to cast so they believed in the lives of their friends, enabling them to survive it. There, they go through, fight and barely defeat various big-name creatures, solve some puzzles and fight the Sorceress herself. Time Compression happens one last time and through the belief and love for her friends, they manage to come through yet again.
Queue celebration party, hotdogs for Zell and annoyance at Irvine for flirting, they relax and enjoy the first night of the rest of their lives. After all, they just defeated the greatest sorceress in all time. What could be a greater danger than that?
So, to wrap this entire huge thing up, a couple of years pass, Selphie and Irvine remain a couple and everyone is happy together - Zell even gets together with the girl with a braid and there were rumors of Quistis having a secret relationship.
