burn, let it all burn this hurricane's TAG: Yuna, Stella, Matt; any order (but keep the order once established) Words: 794
ONE LAST THING: Feel free to use this as a pattern, thread starter people!
”….in this time of crisis. Ladies and gentlemen, the Director of the Academy and my good friend, Hope Estheim.”
Noctis’ eyes settled on the silver-haired man who stood up from behind the podium and moved his way to the front. Estheim was younger than he would have expected him to be…especially considering the leader of PSICOM was a man at least into his forties, if not older. It did made Noctis wonder if the people who were following the Academy really were as foolish as PSICOM made them out to be, having such a young leader…but when he looked over and spotted Stella again, listening to Hope begin his speech as Nocthis himself was doing from the right side of the crowd with his back to a building, he decided these Academics couldn’t be all bad.
”Thank you, Dr. Valance. People of Gran Pulse…I didn’t come to you today to pepper you with jargon about why the Academy is going to help lead you to a brighter day, or help you return home, or help put any other worries on your mind at ease. I hope we’ve managed to reassure you already that it’s our goal to see the chaos brought to an end and all of the refugees returned home.”
Noctis did not want to be here by any stretch of the imagination. It was not interest in the speech that brought him here. No, it was his responsibility to PSICOM that did – a responsibility he’d started to regret not long before he had realized that Stella had opted to join the Academy. They’d told him that the plan was to sneak into this press conference first, something that Noctis didn’t care to do anyway. Sneaking around only led to problems in his experience. That they’d been planning to conceal weapons and potentially use them against a crowd that was going to be full of civilians bothered him further. He didn’t necessarily believe them when they said that the weapons were only going to be used in an extreme situation. PSICOM hadn’t done anything thus far to prove to him that they didn’t carry some sort of…disdain for the people who lived in Academia and generally relied on and worked for the Academic government. While he admitted that PSICOM did seem to know better than the Academy how to operate in a time of potential disaster, Noctis didn’t particularly like the way they operated. It reminded him a little too much of how his father would react, and how his father would expect his prince of a son to react as well.
”What I want to remind you of today is something that only the history books speak of. As many of you know, I am as misplaced in this time as many of you. I was born on Cocoon when it was still a floating planet in the sky, and I experienced the fal’Cie crisis first-hand. The people of Cocoon were experiencing what many to be the end of their world. If the fal’Cie had turned against them, the beings that they had relied on for the entirety of their lives, how could they hope to survive the future?”
The fact that Noctis didn’t understand much of what Estheim was talking about made the tenseness that had been dwelling in his shoulders worse than it had been after he’d encountered Stella. He shifted in place and propped himself up against a street light, noticing something out of the corner of his eye and at the back side of the stage as he did so. Narrowing his eyes, they set on a scene he hadn’t been expecting to see and that instantly filled him with anxiety. Most of the crowd didn’t seem to notice the PSICOM men near the side of the stage with…with one of their own tied and gagged?
”Those people were your ancestors. They may have faltered at times, but in the end they endured, and Gran Pulse, even with its great dangers, became-“ Noctis took a couple of steps in the direction of the scene, but knew he couldn’t reach them before something-
Gunshots.
Noctis’ eyes immediately looked for the closest person now toting a gun as pieces of the crowd started to scatter. One he found almost directly off of his left shoulder. Instictively – sides not mattering to him – he reached forward and took ahold of the gun’s barrel just as the man was leveling it out and shoved it up and into the man’s face, knocking him to the floor. Immediately something rattled against him from the back, and after elbowing whatever it was and turning in place, he found two Academy agents standing poised behind him, one of them staggering back. ”Get down on the ground!”

TAGGED: Noctis, Stella, MattWORDS --STATUS Finished This wasn't what she had wanted. She wanted a personal audience with Hope. She growled to herself as the crowd seemed to be on the edge of their seats. The anticipation in the air was so thick. She noticed the strange attires, other people from other lands, that was what she was assuming. The voice over the loud speaker started to speak. He's a little young, isn't he? She wondered idily, but she figured, she was young for a Summoner when she started. She was just 17 when she had started her pilgrimage. Why did that seem so long ago.
Listening to him, she frowned. She had been told that Chaos was destroying their lands. How could they go back? Were they trying to prevent a riot.. Giving people false hope. Or was there really a way to restore the worlds. She had to battle with the information she had, and the information that she heard. And then his speaking switched, talking about where they were at now. She had no information on the people, or the politics in this place. She started to drift through the crowd. She moved through idily, just running thoughts through her head that she knew only he could answer. She'd have to get an audience with him.
She was snapped out of her reverie by the sound of gunshots, screaming, and running. She pin pointed the sound, knowing how to use a gun also, she knew how to predict where the blast was coming from. She stepped quickly back and brushed up against a man on the ground. Her eyes narrowed. He was knocked out and had a gun in his hand. This wasn't an announcement, this was a blood bath. She heard something right by her. "Get down on the ground!" She spun around without thinking, both her pistols out pointing directly at the Academy staff, her eyes found their target of the men.
He was good looking. He seemed calm, even though he was the one she realized who knocked the armed gunman out. She didn't care if he was friend or foe or not. She advanced quickly. "Put your weapons down and walk away." She hissed, she had a hold on her power, ready to switch to magic if she needed. Their bullets would run out, but hers would not. She didn't want them to know that, but the look on her face was stern. She knew this was going to be more trouble than it was worth. She was waiting for the impending snap. She didn't think she could dodge a bullet, but she was positive that she would be able to fire off enough rounds to blast them the hell away. "I said do it now!!" Her gaze didn't waver from her targets, but she could see the man beside her stiffen. "Need some help?" She asked quietly, she didn't want to impede. She didn't know him, but she figured she'd be lumped together with him. Whoever he was.

She was finding it nearly impossible to concentrate.
And it was all his fault.
With that thought in mind, Stella reached up to brush her bangs away from her eyes in the ruse to be able to once more peek across at where the offender was standing. As soon as she did look at him, Stella forgot all about her bangs and simply stood there watching him. She’d finally found him in this place – after not being sure anyone else from her home was even alive anymore – and had realized that he was on the ‘enemy’ side. Was it their destiny to be on opposite sides? Once more questions that she had asked before popped into her mind. Was she doing the right thing here?
Finally she realized that she must be staring at Noctis. Instantly she dropped her gaze down and stared at her hands. Why did it feel like being betrayed? That was a ridiculous notion, and as soon as it entered her mind, Stella dismissed it from her mind. From what Noctis had said, he hadn’t even known she was here or alive, how could she think that he had purposely joined a different faction? That was shallow of her. When had her faith in life gotten so weak? Instead she trained her eyes on Hope while he started to talk to the crowd.
Stella found herself nodding along to his words while he started to talk. Particularly that part in the end. She yearned for her own home and for this chaos and civil war to be ended. War…she hated war. Everything about it was dreadful. The lives that were lost, the trust that was destroyed. She had resisted the fighting and war for as long as she had remembered – minus the few times she’d been forced into doing things she regretted to appease her family.
At that point, Stella found herself once more peeking over in the direction that Noctis was standing. She told herself she was simply scanning the crowd, but Stella couldn’t help but rest her gaze solely on the man that had become so wrapped up in her destiny. They had resisted it for so long now…but now…how could she turn away from what was so obvious? With a sigh of frustration, Stella swept her long honey-blonde hair over her shoulder and forced her gaze away from Noctis and toward the stage again.
Her violet gaze was drawn to a commotion that seemed to be coming through the crowd. As soon as the figured came into her line of sight, Stella gasped.”Those people were your ancestors. They may have faltered at times, but in the end they endured, and Gran Pulse, even with its great dangers, became-“ “The scheme is up. Do you want your bitch back?” Stella saw Carla being shoved forward and instantly realized that this situation was going to go extremely badly. The command for weapons that came a moment later just backed that up. Instantly she was surrounded by a surge of civilians that were rushing to flee from the gunfire. “Carla!”, she shouted out while trying to struggle through the crowd that was moving in the opposite direction.
That proved to be a nearly impossible task. Instead, Stella steadied herself and felt the rune of magic that she could summon start to swirl around her. Despite keeping the weapons there in her rune, it did provide her a sort of barrier to those that were stampeding. As soon as a path had been cleared, Stella was on the move, sprinting toward her tied comrade. But unfortunately for Stella, the girl had moved and she couldn’t find her. Instead, a bully from the opposite side had apparently picked her out of the crowd as a target. Scrambling back, Stella felt her rune once again activate. While she settled herself and got her rapier out, her eyes had been shifted down. Once her fingers clasped around her weapon, Stella opened her violet eyes and snapped her gaze on the figure that was running toward her.
It was too late to turn back now.

It all seemed a bit too much for the little archer currently, being packed with so much information. For example, what was this Cocoon place? Whoever heard of something as ridiculous as a floating planet in the sky? Another thing that caught him off guard were these fal'Cie things he spoke of. Was that a fancy name for a faction group or something? Perhaps there was some sort of war in this 'Cocoon' place that he spoke about. However, all would hopefully be answered soon enough by the man for us non-residents of here. His call for answers went unanswered as the man continued his speech. ”Those people were your ancestors. They may have faltered at times, but in the end they endured, and Gran Pulse, even with its great dangers, became-“At first the archer wondered why he stopped, but then realized the reason why he did in a single sound: a gunshot. Looking around frantically, he had forgotten his bow since this was just a public event. Not wanting to raise any alarms, he also forgot the majority of his equipment, but only remembered that he knew a bit of magic. He had hoped by now Ultima would have been passed down already, but she still wouldn't answer his call like she answered dad's call. Only having a bit of magic and his wits on him, he quickly went through the panicked crowd, following in suit. As he was running with them, he heard a voice shout out a name as he looked around for it. Was it the name of the person who got shot or something? Looking around, he saw a woman running towards the action instead of away, was she crazy? Giving into his gentleman side, he knew he couldn't leave her be. His worry turned into amazement, seeing her pull a rapier out and charging towards a guy. This could be bad. "Damnit! What's going on here? She's not running away, but charging towards this? Even with a weapon, there were people with guns. What in the world was she thinking?" he thought to himself as he tried to figure out a plan to help her out as he charged towards them. Thinking on the fly, perhaps a simple fire spell might help her against the man as he started to charge it. Hopefully it'd make it in time since he was still quite a ways away. Firing it at the man, he hoped it would prove a good distraction for him and let her able to get in. It was only meant to slightly scorch the mans arm.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul]

burn, let it all burn this hurricane's TAG: Yuna, Stella, Matt Words: 610
ONE LAST THING: This is kind of wonky, but I'm okay with it. A bullet was no more of a threat to Noctis than having a coin flicked at him, but the human instinct in him caused him pause as he looked to the two Academy guards preparing to gun him down. With the crowd frenzied and several fleeing bodies brushing across his back, Noctis forced himself to remain calm. His glare on the pair of Academy troops grew colder as the seconds ticked and as they made more demands from him, saying they’d shoot if their order to him wasn’t followed. Whether or not Noctis wanted this fight or whether or not he was willing to enter combat to support PSICOM in general, he wasn’t going to stand pat and risk becoming a prisoner or a cold body on the ground. Noctis took an easy step forward to prepare himself for a counter-maneuver. Against his better judgment, though, his eyes went behind them to where Stella had been a few seconds before, just in time to see her disappear further into the crowd. It rattled him – thinking he needed to follow her – but thankfully he didn’t take a bullet for his error. No, he had more company – company that, as Noctis turned to face her, came in a different form than he’d been expecting. Considering Stella’s roots in combat, though…Noctis supposed spotting an…interesting-looking brunette to his side and exchanging threats with the Academics shouldn’t have come as any surprise to him.
Noctis swallowed almost in embarrassment at seeing her there and feeling compelled to study her, but a few more screeches from within the crowd compelled him to disregard his thoughts and focus more on what was about to happen if he let either the woman or the Academy guards start shooting. Noctis nervously shifted his gaze between the opposing sets of weapons and the opposing, determined expressions before the woman spoke to him. He swallowed again. ”Not really,” he answered simply, before taking a step between her and the guards as his eyes ignited red. The pair before him let out an angered yell and opened fire. Noctis simply responded with the clanking of weapons summoned in a circle around him – weapons that immediately bended to his will as he stood calmly but menacingly in the middle of them. Not a single shot came remotely close to finding its way to him or to the girl with the guns. And so it would remain as Noctis carefully made sure not to hit her and he lashed out, driving several of the blades into the chests to the guards and sending them flying onto their backs, already claimed by death.
Noctis let his shoulders settle, turning to glance at the woman behind him again with his reddened gaze before catching sight of another Academy trooper coming up at their rear to avenge the death of his comrades. Without saying a word – not that he could – Noctis disappeared completely from his position and flashed into existence a half-second later behind the woman, a fist raised to drive against the face of the surprised Academic. Noctis roughly pulled back on the man’s collar to keep him from stumbling away from the blow, ripping the gun free from his hands and snapping it across his knee before systematically sending a punch to the torso, chest, and neck of the trooper in order. The man slumped over onto his face, at the edge of consciousness from the pain he was experiencing. Noctis took in a deep breath, and his eyes slowly faded back to their typical deep blue. He didn’t turn to the woman but nonetheless addressed her. ”Do you want help getting out of here?”
First, he'd need to pick up Stella too.

TAGGED: nOCTIS,sTELLA,mATT!! WORDS 630--STATUS Finished Slowly Yuna's gaze darkened. She hated that assumption That just because she was a woman she was some kind of damsel. She was no damsel, that was for sure. For one thing being a product of being raised by her father only because her mother passed away, meant that she was not only used to fighting boys, but was hardly scared of them. It barely registered what he had actually said because Yuna had alread spun to walk away. Wouldn't Jecht be so disappointed that she wasn't able to actually fight. She heard a noise and she spun around with her gunner sphere activated. Her Tiny Bee pistols were at the ready. She watched the man come up from behind her. Suddenly, another Academy soldier came directly up from behind him. Where the hell did he come from? Underground?!
It wouldn't surprise Yuna in the slightest, it wasn't like she hadn't been tricked like that before. But before he could touch him, a shot rang out and the man squealed and dropped the knife that he held in his hand, clutching at his knee, she shot him again in the other knee cap, and spun to continue moving through the frantic crowd. She wanted to get to the bottom of this. She would find out what the hell was going on. She was trying to make a bee line directly to where the rest of the shootings were taken place. She noticed two people heading in the same direction. Instead of walking, she started to pick up the pace. Maybe they knew something that was going on. They seemed to have the same kind of idea that Yuna had. So it had to be something similar, right? She glanced back, the man was still going in her direction too. It was somewhat strange.
She didn't know who to trust in this god forsaken place. She hadn't even gotten any real details from Hope. She still didn't know who was bad, and who was good. Which side to join. She felt more rebellious than anything. Wanting to take down the kind of authority figures that didn't work so well in her land either. She had to fix that into something straight. Perhaps it needed it here too. If it turned out later, she could help, perhaps she'd go back and heal the academy man. But she doubted that authority would be the one who sides with. It all depended on one man. One man who had either already either lied to the people, or lied to his colleagues;. How could she deal with that kind of betrayal.
Finally making her way to the place the shooting happened, she looked around looking for any of the original people that were there. She had met up with the others already, but she kept her mouth shut. She had nothing to say, she just wanted to find innocents to heal. One little boy was injured, and she let the green haze fill around her body, and soak into the boys skin. His coloring got better and his wounds stitched themselves up. She just was a servant to the people after all.

With her rune activating around her, Stella’s lit face looked as if surrounded by the illumination of light. All the torrents of her mind and thoughts had been shut off in favor of a battle, and so she blocked that out and focused on the man in front of her. He seemed hellbent on trying to harm her, what with his gun being raised up to bear down on her. Stella sent her rune flashing around her in her own version of the barricade that Noctis did. Though she had never thought to use her rune or ability to summon weapons in such a manner, fighting Noctis once she had admitted he put to use his rune in a way that was executed extremely well and was extremely useful. Since then, she had worked on being able to do the same, and so found herself with her rune creating a barrier around her while the gunman did his work.
The pause to reload was all the encouragement she needed. In motion, her rune failed to be that barrier she had created before and caused her more vulnerability. That didn’t end up being a problem, since she was upon him before he was able to reload his weapon. Flipping in the air, Stella grabbed his shoulders and slammed him to the ground. In a seemingly effortless twist, she landed on her feet with knees bent to absorb the blow. With the man gaining his feet, Stella realized that this was no low class grunt soldier. ’More than likely an elite’, she thought to herself while her rune once more illuminated around her.
Without making a noise, Stella was once more upon the man. Flicking her wrist up, her blade elegantly moved upward. Steel clashed with steel when he moved to block her attack with the barrel of his gun. “Tch.” Whirling completely around, Stella continued with a relentless frontal assault of attacks. Right after she had impaled him with her rapier in close range – feeling a moment of regret quickly suppressed – all of a sudden a fire attack surrounded them both. Feeling the singe of the fire, Stella quickly whirled away, retracting her blade from the dying man and moving away in order to escape the heat of the attack. Violet gaze was instantly searching for the cause of fire, and nearly instantly she located it.
Stella caused her rune to activate once more and felt her rapier dissipate while she summoned a thunder bolt and readied its charge to send toward the man that had attacked with a fire spell. She wasn’t sure if it had been sent to harm her or the man she had impaled, but when you were in situations such as these, you could never be too sure…and no one got a second chance to explain actions. You acted first, and asked questions later – unfortunately for this man. Right as she sent the bolt of thunder magic toward the man, a woman in the crowd distracted her. "Stella?! Steeell-...oh you get out of my way this instant you big oaf!" "Elise!", she gasped in horror, terror gripping her in response to seeing her maid - more like a mother to her - shouting and shoving her way through the crowd. Abandoning the man that had fired the fire magic at her, Stella bolted toward the middle aged woman that was now being confronted by a thug. {NOTES} u.u I'm very sorry about the time for this. Also yes, Elise will be here for comic relief, because I said so. So Noct had better be prepared for a good scrubbing |

was all he said as he headed towards another one, but was pulled away by two guards. He'd struggle, attempting to fire two lightning spells at each of them. However, they focused his hands down and clenched so he couldn't do anything. Moving to kick the one on his left, he tried to get one hand free so he could get free, but he resisted. "You've got some nerve attacking us. Do you know who we are?" the man he was about to tackle said to him. He shook his head as he received a blow to his gut, grunting in pain. Grunting for a few more seconds, he remained speechless closing his eyes, trying not to return fire. At least the woman was free for now, at least he last saw her fleeing to the other woman. "Do whatever you please." he spoke softly to the man in front of him. He'd be able t bear the pain as long as those two were safe. He smiled, his mission so far accomplished.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/ul]

burn, let it all burn this hurricane's TAG: Yuna, Stella, Matt Words: 921
ONE LAST THING: 921 words with no dialogue. Yep, must be a Noctis post.
And people wondered why Noctis had always avoided having to talk with women too much. He watched indifferently as the woman turned away without saying anything, part of him wanting to follow her but the rest completely indifferent at the moment. She wasn’t PSICOM herself, so chances were if he kept close to her, he’d be put in a bad situation having to…well, do what he’d just done to the Academy personnel either dead and bloodied or reeling on the ground in pain. Noctis didn’t waste much time in debating about the woman, though, only glancing after her until a few too many screaming citizens had passed in front of her before turning his eyes away.
Truth be told, Noctis was looking for PSICOM targets, too, that he could disarm in an effort to hopefully stop more of this bloodshed. He was already aware of far too many dead bodies of citzens lying on the ground for him to simply take a side in this situation as if it was some kind of skirmish. And…the fewer PSICOM with guns, the less of a chance Stella could get caught with a bullet. Where was Gladiolus? Noctis knew he was out here somewhere, for the same purposes that he was, but he had yet to spot him. Instead, he spotted a PSICOM shock trooper providing cover for one of those technological mages he’d seen training back on Bhunivelze. That combination would be able to cut down whoever they pleased. Noctis narrowed his eyes, letting them glaze over red, and immediately set off in their direction, dodging his way with a superhuman preciseness through the people passing or troops advancing, closing in on the pair and planning out his strategy, in detail, for taking them both down without harming them like the Academy troops.
Noctis immediately went to work on the shock trooper, grasping the gun with both of his hands and swinging his body around to drive a kick against the trooper’s knees. The gun was freed, but the man was too well-armored to be dropped from Noctis, who wore nothing but his coat. He disposed of the gun to the far end of the street, though, before he drove a fist into the chin of the trooper’s helmet to try and disorient. The other man flailed his arms in a weak attempt to retaliate, giving Noctis a chance to grab one of them, bend it around behind the man, and drive a sharp kick into the back of his knees to knock him to the ground, disoriented enough that Noctis felt confident his job in keeping threats suppressed was done.
Unfortunately, the mage had taken notice. Noctis found himself under assault from a pair of magical attacks in quick succession, easily teleporting out of range of the Fire but feeling the Thunder rake across his side uncomfortably, but not painfully. In this state, he could feel no real pain, anyway. This magic would need a recharge, the prince knew, and thus he set to making his own assault with the crystal’s magic, casting Haste on himself and a Blind on the PSICOM mage to keep him from making any real retaliation. The Blind was quickly dispelled, but it gave Noctis, with the Haste, more than enough time to get in close and summon his falchion into his hands. The falchion scraped across the device allowing for the magic, disabling it. The mage was disabled a few seconds later, as Noctis knocked him across the head with the handle of his weapon before shoving him back onto the ground, unconscious but still completely intact. Two fewer PSICOM to shoot at the crowd seemed worth the trouble it was going to cause him later, and several more citizens were free to step over the pair and flee past, some of them staring as nervously at Noctis as thankfully as they did so. He didn’t much care, though he could feel their eyes burning into him as he typically could. Finding Stella was more on his mind than the public display he was putting on.
Keeping his powers active, he started shuffling silently forward back towards the stage, occasionally having to stop and put up a shield to defend himself or a passerby against spare bullets or, on two occasions, knocking back Academy troops trying to deter him from passing forward and threatening their evacuees. It was as he dropped one with the use of a summoned pike that he spotted a graceful form with flowing blond hair ahead, knowing it immediately to be Stella. She was in a hurry to get somewhere, he also noticed, and as soon as Noctis had managed not to stumble over the Academic that was downed at his feet with a gash to the thigh, he set off in the direction of the blond.
Only for him to catch sight of a group of five PSICOM, a mixture of the ones concealed in civilian clothes from earlier and the new arrivals in armor that had been on standby in case a disaster sprung up – or if they wanted to gun down civilians, heading right in Stella’s direction. They had the angle on her, and shots if they wanted them. Noctis hesitated none in the slightest, setting his jaw as he rushed towards the group of them and overtook them almost immediately, lunging at one and dropping him to the ground nimbly as the man let loose an angry yelp. Hopefully, that would get the PSICOM troops – and Stella’s – attention.

TAGGED: PLOT PEOPLE WORDS 480--STATUS Finished Yuna slipped through the crowd with ease. With her guns at her side, she scanned the area. Who were these people attacking? Probably some unfinished business in this world. Now she was swept up in it. She got a bit cagey sometimes, but to come out here and do this? It was unacceptable in her eyes. It was unfortunate the blood that had masked this day. She shook her head, as people ran screaming through the crowds. She was agile enough to avoid the trampling crowd. And the men didn't seem to be interested in harming her, but she had also cast quite a few buffers on herself. Therefore, most of the attacks wouldn't end up getting through anyway.
She stared at the man she had saved earlier. He really had just ran into 5 oddly dressed men, battling them off. He had looked as if he had seen somebody. As most of the crowd rushed around, she simply watched. 'Damnit.' She hissed, and ran in as one of the men was close to hitting him over the head as he tangled with the other man. Five on one were not great odds. She rushed in, a bright flashing light flared around her form. She didn't want to summon her Aeon just for these five. She wanted to wait. But the ancyness and her itchy trigger finger made her long to bring her out.
She dodged up to intercept the man about to bash the one she had saved earlier. Perhaps she should have gotten a name first? She shook her head, she slipped up between them quickly, the man's eyes widened as he got a large sword up to his neck. "Back off." She hissed. "Not friends of yours, I take it?" She really needed to start figuring out who were the bad guys and who were the good guys. What if he was indeed the bad guy. She shook it off, it didn't really matter at this point. The other men left stared at her. "Need some help, friend?" She hissed before shoving the man back, and he glared at her, tapping the weapon in the palm of his hand. "What do you think. 5 against 2 better odds?" She bit out a soft hiss, glancing back at the man.

Stella didn’t hesitate in the least, but quickly felt her rune activate around her. Quickly pulling her rapier from her swirling rune, Stella bolted in front of Elise to protect her from the thug and took a quick swipe at the man with her blade. She felt it easily glide through some of his suit and hit some skin in his chest as well. Quickly withdrawing her blade, Stella placed a protective arm toward Elise and gave the PSICOM thug a deep glare of anger. “Elise, are you okay?” As she said it, Stella quickly pushed her to the side and whirled to avoid the gorilla like arms that came to beat her down. Quickly reversing her arm, Stella once more felt her blade tear through some skin while the man jumped back.
With her eyes set on the man, Stella left Elise standing there and swiftly moved to attack the man before her. Despite growing up in a setting that should have bred nothing but a gentle princess, beneath such was a woman borne into a war and fit for that as well as tea parties. Thrusting out her rapier, she quickly flicked her wrist up and slashed quickly once at the manly, reversing the direction of her blade and coming back down with it. Almost instantly she advanced on the stumbling man, and though he did his best to block her attacks, she finally disabled him. Before she could deliver the final blow though, she heard the shout from her maid once more. “You get your hands off of me!”
Whirling around, she saw the same man that had sent a spell her way previous by Elise, as well as a few more thugs. Furrowing her brow, she leapt into a sprint toward her. Seeing the man catch a guard and tackle him, Stella simply grabbed the hand of her maid and started to pull her to safety. Not, however, before Elise decided to attack the man that was attempting to help them, or to try to. With her purse wielded in her hands like a sword, she went to swat at the man being dragged away, but Stella tugged her from the opposite side and quickly dragged her through the milling crowd. “He was helping Elise.”, she tried to explain, refusing to look back at the man. She’d never seen him in her life, and though it did bother her to leave someone behind that had been trying to help her, Elise also came first. “We need to get out of here!”, she spoke urgently while she attempted to usher Elise through the crowd and to some sort of safety.
It was then that she saw the group in front of them, coming closer. “No!” That being hissed between her teeth, Stella reversed her direction and was once more dragging Elise a few steps in the opposite way.“Stella, look!” The smaller woman had apparently set in her heels, because Stella was dragged to a stop and forced to turn and look at whatever had caught Elise’s eyes. Noctis was on the group. Instantly she felt a familiar twinge deep within her chest when she saw that.
Making a split second decision, Stella shoved Elise roughly between the shoulder blades, sending her in the opposite direction. “Get to safety!” Reversing her own feet, Stella felt that twinge once more while she found herself running in the direction where she had seen Noctis fighting the group of PSICOM men. She tried to tell herself that he was a grown, experienced fighter as well as a prince, but her heart and mind told her two different things.
The other woman that showed up was spared no more than a glance. In that glance Stella sized her up and decided there was nothing much to see there. A rough sizing, but in the second she spared, that was her summary. She said nothing, feeling no needless taunts or speeches were necessary. Instead her rune activated around her and a moment later her rapier was once more in her hand. A glance toward the prince she had gotten to know was enough to speak what remained physical unsaid. Stella didn’t need to pick out a member of PSICOM to go after, as one lunged quickly at her. Sidestepping just as quickly, she caught him with her blade and sliced deeply.
