Sephiroth landed as gracefully as ever, his single raven black wing flapping one last time, feathers seperating from it and being carried by the wind, just before his boots touched the ground, turquoise eyes gazing upon a city like he had never seen before, though could relate to in terms of its technological influences as Midgar shared it with this... City. The name was still unknown to him, but perhaps he would soon find out? He did not know it, but he did know one thing about it, the reason why he had come this far. Cloud was there, his nemesis, his rival, his bane of existance, the only one he deemed worthy to fight and considered a threat to himself. Time and time again they fought, time and time again Sephiroth took something from him, something important even. His village, his friend and even his mind once, but it all went for naught as he had gathered an unimaginable force that trumped everything, including the obviously superior swordsmanship he possessed. Where did he gather that power, that force, that menace? It was the sole reason why Sephiroth had been beaten in the past and until he could overcome that, he would always be able to defeat the one winged one. It was preposterous, inconceivable, a fluke, a paradox! How could one far inferior to him, to the once called Hero, be able to defeat Sephiroth, son of the Calamity! He could not understand... What did he have that Sephiroth lacked? And then it came to him... His friends.
"Hmph... That is the answer? Yes, it must be... So simple, yet so... So seemingly unrelated. Is that what you cherish the most, Cloud? I see. An obvious answer.", he smirked as coldly as ever. What if he took it all away from him? What if he took all of his friends: the girl he held dear, the children he protected, the friends that supported him, what would that leave him with? Nothing... Nothing to fight for but a planet that was not his own, now at least that was the case. And where was the fun and challenge of fighting a broken foe? There was none, he would not take any pleasure in it, therefore that possibility was out of the question. Perhaps one or two would not entirely break him, rather infuriate him and make him charge head on into a clash with the silver-haired swordsman. A possible plan, one he would most likely explore. Though not right now. Sephiroth was somewhat tired, bored, he felt stagnation with this whole ordeal. He would appear before Cloud, he would taunt him, inflict some physical pain, perhaps some emotional one too, make him feel dread as he drove his sword into his flesh, but in the end, he would always find that strength, that raw power, and be able to defeat Sephiroth, momentarily of course as he could not be truly defeated, no matter how many times he was struck down. This cycle had been going on for what appeared to be centuries to the man with cat-like, clear turquoise eyes that glowed with a hint of madness beneath their calm demeanour, growing perhaps a tad reluctant to carry on with it. Cloud had been the focus of his attention for so long, the boy who was able to put an end to his plan, to use Gaia, “The Planet”, as a vessel much like his mother had done in the past, foiled by him. He was the one that kept bringing Sephiroth back, his darkness, that would never end no matter how much he drowned himself in light, the beacon that drew him out of Death’s cold grasp.
”A moment’s rest… Cloud. I will give it to you as a gift. I will give you time to grow even more attached to the ones you wish to protect, the ones you cherish the most. For when the time is right, I will take pleasure in severing that bond and you…”, he stopped himself, only to let out a cold smirk accompanied by a malicious curl of the corner of his lips that though soft, could clearly be noticed before he continued, ”I will see this new world we have been drawn to with my very own eyes, the conflict that’s coming one I wish to witness. Where will you stand on it? Will you join a side? Or will you remain neutral to it?... This new world has so many possibilities, so much potential.”, he lifted a hand and gazed at it before clenching it into a fist, ”It will make a fine vessel… When the fools are done ravaging it and the confrontation is over, I will take it. I will see you then… Cloud.”, he gave one final smirk, just before he turned his back upon the city, a black wing extending fully once more and with a mighty flap and a boost with his legs, he sprinted up into the sky once more, appearing to be a mere spec of black from the ground that soared rapidly through it before disappearing from sight in the opposite direction of the city he had gazed upon. He would see this world, he would learn about it as much as he wanted and witness what was to come, this calm before the storm one he could sense that would not last much longer. Perhaps that way, that feeling of stagnation would be cast aside? If not, it did not matter, for once he would enjoy fulfilling his own desires, instead of being alive for someone else.

SEPHIROTH THEY CALL ME SEPHIROTH AND MY AGE IS NOT OF YOUR CONCERN. I'M FROM THE WORLD OF GAIA WHERE I AM THE SON OF JENOVA. I DO NOT SEEK COMPANIONSHIP FROM MALE OR FEMALE ALIKE AND I REMAIN NEUTRAL TO THE AFAIRS OF THIS WORLD. ------------------------------------------------- Weapon: Masamune: An abnormally long katana, Masamune is Sephiroth’s sole weapon of choice, wielding it with deadly accuracy and proficiency. It is said that only he is capable of using it to its full potential, as the long blade is quite hard to control. It’s quite resilient and is able to cut through rock and steel quite easily as it’s augmented by the man’s absurd strength.
Abilities:
Son of JENOVA: Sephiroth has inhuman physical attributes, a gift from his “mother’s” cells and the experiments he was subjected to at a young age, along with the mako infusions all SOLDIERs were administrated as standard procedure.
Reaper: A three sword-swing combo that assaults the foe with several hits that are not visible from the speed he executed them. This ability to use several hits also can accompany his normal strikes with Masamune.
Shadow Flare: Sephiroth summons spheres of darkness around the opponent, only to have them home in on him, inflicting magic damage. He can also conjure upon his hand and hurl it at his opponent for an explosive effect.
Barrier: A barrier is summoned to protect Sephiroth entirely for a short duration, preventing physical and magical attacks from harming him.
Oblivion: Sephiroth disappears from sight after stancing momentarily, reappearing behind his target. He performed a dash through him and within seconds, several hits begin to overwhelm the opponent rapidly. These can be blocked with enough expertise in swordsmanship and they have a delay between the dash and execution.
Godspeed: Sephiroth launches energy waves through the air with a few swings of his blade. These may be used as distractions so that he can teleport to behind his opponent and deliver a powerful swing to him.
One Winged Angel: The definition of Sephiroth, not just a title, he spreads his dark wing, enabling him to take flight and teleport short distances.
Scintilla: Blocking a physical attack, Sephiroth overwhelms the opponent with two swings of his sword, inflicting several hits upon the opponent before knocking them away.
Hell’s Gate: Masamune’s blade is pointed downwards and Sephiroth descends upon his opponent after either jumping above them or teleporting, stopping only when he finds solid ground, the force and momentum applied by him enough to shatter the ground and send a shockwave out from him.
Octaslash: Sephiroth dashes towards his opponent, only to deliver eight, single, powerful and quick blows with his blade.
Heartless Angel: Sephiroth taps into the darkness within the heart of his adversary only then to sap his health and magical power out of him nearly entirely. This requires some casting time and he is left unguarded while performing it. (Only useable once in a thread)
Personality: Calm, cold, malicious and arrogant, Sephiroth is a creature that has become more monster than man, the only thing driving his actions an obsession that has surged so long ago, but its influence clearly still reside within him. He once had friends, he was once a hero to everyone, famous for his deeds and for how he stood on the side of justice, but now he is but a fiend that nearly annihilated every creature that existed in Gaia, even going as far as having the intent to destroy the planet. Does he feel any remorse or regret? No, he does not. It was something he would do all over again, though the second time, he’d be sure to get rid of Cloud before he could became a threat to his plan. As fiendish as that sounds, it is the truth and he openly admits it without so much as one shred of restraint so as to show some guilt. Speaking of showing guilt, it is rare to see him express any emotion, seemingly emotion deprived at all times, a very calm yet cold demeanour taken by him at all times and it is very rare to see him express any emotion.
He is a very cruel and sadistic being, enjoying the pain of others very much. He does not simply kill a target of choice, oh no, he really wants them to squirm, to suffer until the very end, both physically and mentally, passing by emotionally. He takes his vengeance very serious as well and the fact that he is quite intelligent only makes him the more dangerous with his personality. Sephiroth also shows himself to have pretty much a messiah complex, proclaiming he is “the chosen one”, referring to how he is JENOVA’s son and how he will become a god, though this somewhat lessened to a more carefree, egocentrical version, though he still maintains that arrogant and overconfident trait. Though despite this nature… There is one thing that most fail to see because of his doings and personality. He tries to hide it, he neglects it, he ignores everything that relates to it just as much as feeble insults by others, but it’s there, a sorrow, a sadness, woe that he does not comprehend and cannot be rid of it. Only those that truly want to see it can do so. The rest? To the rest it passes by as they only see the monster, which the man supports as he’d rather have that.
History: Before Crisis/Crisis Core |
[/i] Sephiroth’s birth is shrouded by mystery. He was the son of Hojo and Lucrecia Crescent, Professor Gast’s assistants who, was at the time, working on the Jenova Project. Hojo injected Jenova cells onto Lucrecia and to the fetus that would later become Sephiroth. Since birth, Sephiroth was trained to be a super soldier, becoming the first and the best SOLDIER. Although the small genius was denied the name of his father, and the name of his mother was supposedly “Jenova”. They deceived him into thinking that she had died while giving birth to him. But ever since he began training, he felt like he was special somehow, he felt like his existence had to have a special purpose. The boy trained day and night, becoming the pride and joy of SOLDIER; it appeared that Project Jenova was a success. As Sephiroth continued to train and execute mission in the name of SOLDIER, he met two new friends, Angeal and Genesis. They caught his attention for some reason and from then on they became close friends, despite the fact that they saw themselves as rivals… The three wanted the spot of SOLDIER First class and were always sparring to see who the best of the three was. Sephiroth was obviously the one that emerged victorious, despite the other two’s persistence. A slight friction started to surge between Sephiroth and Genesis. Sephiroth was becoming famous worldwide for his strength and his role in the war against the Wutai, who persisted to deny being controlled by Shin-ra, revolting and fighting to maintain their independence. Shin-ra sought control over their land seeing that they were the only ones who weren’t under their domain and the area in which they resided proved to be the perfect place to build a Mako Reactor. Sephiroth really was the only one that was recognized for his skill in that war… People were shining a spotlight on him, not even considering Angeal and Genesis, who also participated in the war and without their help; Shin-ra would’ve surely failed. Ever since then, his friendship with Genesis became more and more fragile with every step Sephiroth took. Ever since then, the president of Shinra often relied on Sephiroth’s skills, calling him personally whenever a difficult mission surged. He was even in charge of protecting the president during the attack of the AVALANCHE in which he engaged their leader and even rescued Hojo from the AVALANCHE later on, when they attacked the Shinra HQ. One day, during a little sparring match between him and his two friends, Genesis and Angeal, there was an incident that resulted in Genesis getting wounded by Sephiroth. Though it was not a normal wound, seeing that for some reason, Genesis could not heal himself. Sephiroth offered his blood for the transfusion, though he was cut off because they were not compatible and so Angeal had to be the one to save Genesis. Later on, Sephiroth would learn that Genesis had abandoned his friends and Shinra, becoming a rogue agent and be targeted as a threat to the Shinra cooperation. This made Sephiroth the favourite operative to be assigned whenever a mission concerned Genesis presented itself, which made Sephiroth slightly uneasy. Sephiroth also defected when, during a simple inspection on a Mako reactor at Nibelheim with Angeal’s puppy, Zack fair, and a few Shinra guards, he discovered a few things about himself that made him question everything he ever knew, even his own existence. His so called mother Jenova was actually a calamity that fell from the sky, he was an experiment and Genesis also did not help, aiding Sephiroth’s descent into madness even further by inciting and sowing the seed of discord as he indirectly called Sephiroth a monster. Sephiroth would later on lay siege on Nibelheim, setting the town in flames before going for the reactor so he could reclaim his mother. There was an attempt to stop him, though Sephiroth proved to be a monster of an opponent, only getting defeated by a simple guard that had caught him off guard, impaling Sephiroth through the stomach and flinging him against the wall with the head of JENOVA, who he had previously severed it from its body. Final Fantasy VII[/i] The Nibelheim incident records and reports were sealed off by Shinra and excuses started being made in an attempt to isolate the incident and make it a secret so as not to raise any panic among the people. As they did so, Sephiroth began to study the lifestream, learning all of its secrets, special the ones regarding a powerful Black Materia that held great power within it, enabling it’s user to cast Meteor, the most powerful black magic spell there was. He eventually travelled to the Nothern Crater, the place where his “mother” landed and went into hibernation, crystallized in mako so as to heighten his powers even more. During the time he spent hibernating, he used his newly acquired influence over Jenova and used this to manipulate those with Jenova cells within them. The mad scientist Hojo wanted to test the Jenova Reunion Theory so he started using the survivors of the Nibelheim accident, injecting into them Jenova cells. Later they would, like Hojo had predicted, attempt to reunite themselves with Sephiroth, travelling to the Nothern Crater to join him. He also manipulated Jenova’s remains and used them to release Cloud and the members of AVALANCHE that were being held captive and kill President Shinra. Sephiroth would meet Cloud and his team and hint them of his plans several times, which at some point made them realize what he was planning and attempted to acquire the Black Materia before the villain could get ahold of it. Cloud was the first to get to the black material, though he was then controlled by Sephiroth when he tapped into the Jenova cells that inhabited his body and made him give up the black material to his clone, which after attempted to counter Aerith’s Holy, the only spell that could stop Meteor, by impaling her, though the Jenova/Sephiroth clone arrived too late and the spell had already been cast. Back at the crater, Sephiroth was holding back Aerith’s Holy as Cloud and his friends were attempting to intercept his clone and take back the Black Materia. They were successful, though as they carried on inside the cavern, Sephiroth started tricking them using illusions, which would later aid him in manipulating Cloud so he would give him the Black Materia, which he did when Sephiroth revealed himself. He then cast Meteor on the planet and sensing danger, the WEAPONS were activated so Sephiroth had to take precautions and raised an energy barrier to protect himself from them. Cloud and his team were able to flee with the help of Rufus Shinra. After being aided by Shinra, Cloud recovered from Sephiroth’s psychological assault and made plans to defeat him and using a Mako cannon, he was able to get inside the Crater once again, passing through the barrier. When Cloud and his team encountered Sephiroth once again, he was shaping himself into a more befitting form for a god, presenting himself to them in a larva-form first known as Bizzaro-Sephiroth. Cloud’s party was victorious, though the battle had just begun. Sephiroth took on his ultimate form, becoming a true monster-like angelic being with seven wings. Though their strength knew no match and Sephiroth was defeated yet again, but he wasn’t going to give up that easily and attempted to take control of Cloud’s mind once again, only to be defeated as Cloud’s defences became more effective. Defeated yet again, Sephiroth fades into the lifestream and his plans foiled. Advent Children[/u][/i] With Sephiroth’s destruction, the world was able to prosper, though not entirely at peace. A plague called the Geostigma, afflicted the children across the land. It was discovered that that plague was actually Jenova’s consciousness that remained in the lifestream. Cloud was also affected by this disease. Sephiroth’s will was too powerful to be destroyed, thus three beings crawled out of the lifestream, gaining forms and becoming the Remnants of Sephiroth; the task handed to them was the resurrection of Sephiroth in the name of “Mother”. Eventually, Kadaj, the leader of the group was successful in obtaining the remains of Jenova and after absorbing her, Sephiroth was reborn and with a new and improved plan to accomplish his goal. After the ones infected with the Geostigma joined with the lifestream, they would corrupt it and thus, with the aid of Jenova’s cells, Sephiroth would be able to control the planet and use it to travel through out the universe to do exactly was his “Mother” did. His plans, however, were foiled by Cloud once again, who defeated Sephiroth using that mysterious strength of his. Sephiroth fades away once again, Kadaj taking his place in the world a few seconds before he joined the lifestream.
