It was amazing how easily people were taken in. Feeling the gil in her hand, Carla smiled at the happy student that now had the potion in his hands. He was happy, she was happy, it all ended well. Quickly counting the money, she determined it was all there, and nodded at him. “Looks good Greg.” Immediately she got a chimed “Thanks Carla! Just what I needed.” She had to smile at just how cheerful he was. He’d come with a problem and she had given him the solution. Honestly, people were so dumb. Not one of the people she had sold one to had figured out that instead of a miracle cure like she advertised, it was simply a cure potion that had a bit of remedy in it to give it an extra kick. Amazing all right. She could go buy a few potions and remedies from Aria, that weird little merchant, mix them together, and sell them for hundreds of gil. And no one had caught on. It was almost ridiculous. Then again, she’d never sold one to Class Zero yet…and that was her goal.
For some reason it had turned personal with those members of the school. The rest that she swindled was just good business, but with them, she went out of her way to swindle them even more. Things she could sell to the average person for a hundred gil, she asked a thousand for with class Zero. Some of it was, of course, swindling them and asking a whole heck of a lot more then it was really worth, but really a lot of items she had were actually rare items that you couldn’t get from any of the other merchants. That, and she had plenty of juicy information that people wanted. She was by no means of the ninja and thief classes, but she could hold her own in gathering information and dirt on others. And did it on a daily basis. After all, people didn’t just come to buy items. They came to buy information and something they could spread like wildfire. She didn’t mind that the rumors around here, or at least, the majority of them, had been caused by her. It was hard to trace it back to her, since she generally never spread out information to the general public. No, if you wanted it from her, you had to show a little gil.
She rivaled ninjas in that area, and was proud of that fact. Very, very proud of it. It was a skill to learn, but she had always had a knack for it. Which was good, since it was the way that she brought in an income, and with her mother’s bills to pay off, she needed it. Not that she would never use the money to do her own thing with, of course. When it was there and she wanted something, she didn’t feel guilty about getting it, or building up her business with more rare items. She had to keep the people happy of course! That was why they kept coming back. Except class Zero! That grated on her nerves. They would rather go to that wimpy, crazy talking little Aria then her? “Hump.”, she huffed out, before ‘closing up shop’ and making her way out of the library where she had been at before.
Time to go count the money for the day! And of course, homework. She had to keep her grades up and keep the faculty happy of course. That had always come to her advantage, since they all liked her and thought that she was the best thing in the world. She admitted that she might be pulling the wool over their eyes just a little bit, but it wasn’t like she was harming anything. And they never gave her good grades for it either. No, she actually did work for her grades. She did mainly because of the benefits she could obtain from it. She wasn’t shy about admitting that, at least to herself. Plopping down finally in a comfy chair in the lounge that was currently free from any company, Carla placed her bag on the ground and pulled out the gil that she had earned that day, dumping it in a pile on the little table in front of her. Grinning down at it, Carla rubbed her hands together gleefully and dug her hands in. Sure, most of it went to her mom and bills, or helping support her little sister who was taking care of her, but it was more the satisfaction of knowing that she could get this much money then actually having it, since most of it was given to her family. Oh well, she did like her gil! Lifting it up, she started to leaf through it, counting as she went. Today was such a good day! Nothing could ruin it! Right? Right!

CARLA AYATSUGI HEY THERE, THEY CALL ME CARLA YO AND I'M CURRENTLY SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD. I'M FROM THE WORLD OF ORIENS WHERE I AM A MERCHANT AND DRAGOON. I GO FOR INTELLIGENT GUYS AND I WILL THROW MY WEIGHT BEHIND THE ACADEMY. ------------------------------------------------- Weapon: Lance/Gun - Despite being from the dragoon class, Carla's weapon also transforms into a gun. She uses a mechanism on the side for the weapon to switch between being a large rifle like weapon, to a more classic spear for her class. Abilities: - Mischievous Drop: Carla will sneak up on an enemy in this move. Using stealth to her advantage, she will jump high in the air before dropping down on her enemy, giving them no chance to respond to her lance.
- Fiery Vengeance: In this attack, Carla will jump up and slam down into the ground, creating a small attack where fire is casted and spreads out from around her. Due to not controlling magic as well as she could, the attack doesn't kill, but will harm and stun long enough to finish her enemy.
- Fire/Fira
- Thunder
- Cure/Cura
Personality: Carla is a fiery young woman. She won't back down from a challenge, instead rising to it. Normally she's nice and happy, with a smile on her face, however if angered, her temper can flair up quite easily, though she tries hard to control it. Usually only when provoked for an extended period of time will she lose her temper. She has her opinions and isn't ashamed to speak them, sometimes lacking tact, however she almost always means well with what she says and points out to people. But of course its easy to crush egos that way. Normally happy and personable, Carla doesn't exactly love class Zero and is generally colder to them. Though friendly, Carla is somewhat of a con artist, with her merchant business, she likes to rip people off, though she does this more with class Zero then the other students. She also appears to up on what is happening not only in Rubrum, but all over the world, selling her information, which can vary from from Intel on the enemy to minute things like panty shots of the girls. no matter the information she has, Carla is more likely to charge a higher price, usually completely unreasonable, if it was class zero, while she didn't charge quite so much to the students of other classes. Those in class two get a discount because they are her friends and fellow classmates. A very serious student, Carla studies diligently and always is a favorite of the teachers because of her efforts. Excelling with her weapon, she works hard and trains just as hard, in her own mind, wanting to pass up Nine. It isn't a conscious effort, but it happens none the less. Though class Zero isn't her favorite, she appreciates how skilled Nine is in his field. Very Determined, Carla tries her hardest at everything, be it fighting or conning someone into buying something. Its not easy to get her upset or lose her temper, but when she does get upset, beware of her wrath. She has no qualms about speaking her mind, and if she's mad at you she wont hold back from telling you. Carla has a sarcastic side and if you're being stupid, she will make a remark, usually followed up by a smile so you cant tell if she's being nice or just dissed you, however she's usually kind, and is well liked by other students, and never talks back to teachers. She has a large amount of patience, as she has to have to coax information out of people, and can deal with just about anything if she gets information out of the deal. She keeps her eyes and ears open, and seems to know more about whats going on then just about anyone, be it unimportant matters or crucial ones. If something is going on, Carla is a good one to ask about it, as she's always figuring out things, however generally the information will cost you something, as she doesn't just spread things around for the sake of talking. A sassy 'go getter', Carla will try anything once, and never turns down a dare. Like Cater she enjoys pulling pranks on people, and finds it easy to come up with stories on the spot, making her somewhat of a slippery character, though she rarely uses the ability, and is almost always honest. All the pranks she pulls are in good fun and she means nothing malicious when she does them. Simply mischievous, Carla is usually up to something, either in her head coming up with something or actually going through with her plans. All in all however, she's friendly and outgoing, just a bit secretive and very knowledgeable. History: Carla grew up like any normal child in Oriens, in the nation of Rubrum. Liked by most, she grew up with this skill of acquiring items and information. From the time she was able to walk and talk, she was getting things and trading with her friends for other things. Carla had always had the knack of taking a quarter and turning it into a dollar, and usually came out with the better deal. Perhaps because she could talk it up, or because she knew just what to say and how to say it to get people to fall for buying or trading for what she wanted. Of course, it had all started out on things like cookies or dolls. Her father died when she was very young, shortly after she turned eight years old. It devastated her mother. Though the young woman tried very hard for her children, she slowly started to slip downhill. Carla took over running the household, her own school, managing the bills, as well as taking care of her younger sister. She was there at the age of fourteen when her mother was diagnosed with a bad disease - one which could take her life. Carla didn't know what she would do, though she opted to leave school so that she could somehow manage to support her mother. However, her mother wanted nothing to do with that plan. Instead, she desired for her daughters to get a great education, and pushed Carla to try to get accepted into Rubrum's Magic Academy. Though she applied, she didn't think she would get in. But she did! Carla received a letter in the mail some time later from Rubrum's Magic Academy, Peristylium Suzaku. When she joined, Carla quickly figured out she had another knack for a lance, and was put into class two, focusing on the aspects of a dragoon. She does well, and has excelled, but still remains in class Two, not being picked to be one of the esteemed members of class Zero. Perhaps that is one reason why she dislikes them. Carla has it in her head that they think themselves special and higher then the others, and she didn't like it. They all had vital roles, why should they be elevated above others? At any rate, due to her past and her skills in that area, on the side, Carla became a merchant and sells her items and information, all for a certain price. To those in Class Zero however, the price is outrageous. This is the one way that she could be assured that she would be able to cover the expensive medical bills to get her mother the best care possible, and so she spends most of the money she makes there. The war that happened is all but a memory, and she is unsure if it was ever real or not, however she gets fuzzy glimpses of things she couldn't explain. However, since life seemed to go on as normal, Carla doesn't worry, and simply lets things be. She studies hard, trains harder, and digs up information harder still. If she cannot remember exactly, does it really matter? Except that to her, information was very worthwhile, and so she digs around as much as she can, hoping to unlock the pieces of these fuzzy memories. Nothing more then a glimpse... |
