Weapon: "Primary? Who only has one!? ..Ahem"Gilgamesh has many weapons.. too many to count. So I'll list them in different sets.
Weapon Set 1 "Dissidia" (In order from left to right)
Excalibur: The grand and ultimate sword! It tends to deal a lot of damage when struck.
Excalipur: The grand an... NOT THIS AGAIN! What a total ripoff, it's nearly worthless.
Naginata: Gilgamesh's pride and joy, he always carries this polearm around. Great for length!
Masamune: A curved like sword of Japanese decent. Swift and really good for dealing that extra critical damage.
Genji Blade: Another Gilgamesh classic, one of his most favorite weapons. Another great damage-dealer.
Zantetsuken: A possession he took from Odin, grants him the Zantetsuken ability which has a small chance of instantly putting an opponent into critical health when using the ability. The sword itself has a natural ability to cause Wound damage.
Battle Axe: The classic Battle Axe! Deals moderate damage.
Chicken Knife: Gilgamesh doesn't run from anyone.. well MAYBE he does but you didn't hear that. The weapon's strength depends how much damage he's sustained and how many weapons he's ran from.
Weapon Set 2 "Replica" (In order from top to bottom)
Orichalcon: A real dagger! It's Zidane's dagger he used in his left hand. It's a lot longer than it should be.
Excalipur: See Weapon Set 1
Excalibur: See Weapon Set 1
Zantetsuken: See Weapon Set 1
Buster Sword: Not a fake! Cloud's sword, though something's scratched onto it and it looks like it has extra Materia slots.
Revolver: The real deal! Squall's gunblade.. but the trigger seems to be missing.
Brotherhood: Seems pretty real. Tidus' Brotherhood, but with some extra prongs at the front.
Wyrmhero Blade: A sword of swords! Legends say it vanquished many Dragons.
Weapon Set 3 "Ranged"Automatic Firearmx5 - Five automatic firearms, after a couple bursts he needs to reload.
Rocket Launcher - A rocket launcher, used by the Rocket Launcher ability shoots a rocket that deals explosive damage.
(Note: Gilgamesh doesn't really enjoy Weapon Set 3)
Weapon Set 4 "XIII-2"(Top to bottom Left:)
Masamune: See Weapon Set 1
Zantetsuken: See Weapon Set 1
Excalipur: See Weapon Set 1
(Top to bottom Right:)
Excalibur: See Weapon Set 1
Muramasa: Sword from Hell, any physical damage from this sword drains Health and adds to his.
Bashosen: Fan-Like weapon, has a possibility of hitting with slow or debuffing one random status element* (You pick what it does to you, if you chose to have it inflict nothing than that is fine too.)
Abilities:Cross Slash - A technique where it pushes Gilgamesh forward, slashing. Once connected he'll swing twice more and send the target flying. Deals more hits in EX mode.
Wind Slash - Gilgamesh fires a small vortex of wind at the target
Dual Thrust - Lunges to stab the target and then swings up to send them into the sky. Short, but fast. Deals more hits in EX mode
Whirlwind Slash - Leaps up and spins weapons to deal damage to an opponent, turns around and sends them flying afterwords. Has a larger area and deals more hits in EX mode. Deals more hits in EX mode
Tsubamegaeshi - A diving attack which leads into a chain of attacks that slams the target into the ground. Deals more hits in EX mode.
Electrocute - Lighting strike that comes down from above and opponent, creates a ring of electricity when it hits.
Double Trouble - A wide sweep attack that leads into a slam to knock the target away. Another short, but fast technique. Has a larger area and deals more hits in EX mode.
Death Claw - Two slashes in a X like fashion. Has a wider effect in EX mode.
Jump - A dragoon classic, Gilgamesh jumps high into the air and dives down to deal damage. In EX mode it has a wider radius.
Rocket Punch - Launches two boxing glove shaped fists at the opponent. Fires eight if he's in his Morphed form.
Swords Dance - Sweep towards opponent while slashing his weapons. If he connects the attack he unleashes a torrent of hits that smacks the enemy away.
Hurricane - Makes a whirlwind with swords spinning around him, really short range.
Missile - Launches a rather fat missile at the opponent, moves slow but has a large explosive radius. In EX mode he fires 2 missiles.
Strongest Sword! - Gilgamesh's EX Burst which is a chain of his Divider and Ultimate Illusion techniques. Divider is a rapid dash technique, slicing the opponent each time he dashes past them (near instantly) and Ultimate Illusion is two giant energy waves.
Run Away! - Casts Haste, Protect, and Shell on Gilgamesh. Usually used when in a pinch, probably about to escape a battle.
Rocket Launcher - Use of the Rocket Launcher. It has the same properties as Missile with the exception that it's fast with a smaller radius.
Vendetta - Gilgamesh stands still and allows opponents to attack him, will deal large counter-attack damage to anyone who hurt him while in Vendetta.
Gilgamesh Morphing Time! - Gilgamesh morphs from his normal two-armed appearance to add four extra arms so he can wield all of his weapons.
EX Mode: Void Morph! - Gilgamesh's skin becomes much more darker and allows him access to his limit break, as well as any EX buffs. Upon entering EX mode he has a chance of having multiple of the same weapon. EX mode ends when he does his EX Burst or after a few posts.
Rift Teleport - Only used when emerging from the rift. It's how he gets around.
Personality: Overall Gilgamesh is a weapon-hunter first and everything else second ...for the most part. Any weapon excites him and he'd be more than ready to battle someone for their weapon, especially if it's the mighty Excalibur. He's always on the hunt for great weapons and he won't stop until he has them all. Rare and unique weapons are his target and if he usually can't get the real deal he ends up finding it somewhere else, though they turn out to be replicas (it's a secret to everybody)! Any variant of Excalibur would be enough to please him, but since he's seen (and lost) so many versions of it he still won't rest until he has them all!
Outside of that Gilgamesh is an honorable warrior. He doesn't really ally himself with anyone anymore ever since he was betrayed by Exdeath so he's somewhat of a lone wolf, but that'd be a lie since he usually travels with his faithful companion Enkidu. In his eyes Enkidu is an honorable warrior and a great friend. While Exdeath did banish him to the void, Gilgamesh doesn't exactly have a personal vendetta against him, he's more afraid of getting banished back into the rift actually. Though he still doesn't consider getting banished to the rift a punishment anymore, it helped him find many new warriors and many new weapons! When bested Gilgamesh tends to run, though if he doesn't run he's a pretty friendly guy. Gilgamesh would even go to the extent of sacrificing himself to save honorable warriors like Bartz.
Due to his encounter with Bartz he won't rest until he wins against him, so you could say he's more of a rival rather than a dastardly villain. While sometimes he can be aloof and serious, he mostly has this comedic nature to him which really defines his character. Gilgamesh also loves close-quarters combat, favoring it over firearms.
History:Gilgamesh started his journey in a small village. The village's principle was that all men were warriors there and he grew up to be the best of them all. The Genji equipment that he wears is proof to show considering that the Genji equipment in his village was considered to be only given to the best of the best. After he grew up he served under Exdeath as his commanding officer, he wiped out all of Galuf's armies single handedly. Later on in the years he had been picked to be the prison guard of Bartz, Lenna, and Faris. Though that didn't last very long since Galuf had dealt with him, making Gilgamesh run away in the process. Gilgamesh blocked their escape route on the Big Bridge, but was also defeated there.
While still employed under Exdeath, he encountered Bartz again on their ship with Enkidu by his side. That battle proved fierce as Gilgamesh morphed, but ended up with Gilgamesh tossed into the ocean. In the downtime Gilgamesh had thought he found a very powerful sword in a chest, but unknown to him it wasn't the Excalibur that he sought. He learned his mistake harshly during the battle that followed. The sword he found before was the Excalipur, the cheap knockoff version and as a result he couldn't do any damage to Bartz and his party. That was when Exdeath saw Gilgamesh as incompetent and banished him to the rift.
The last he was seen on that particular world was when he was in the rift, attacking everything in sight. He was confused initially and attacked all monsters in that area, including Bartz. After losing to him (yet again) he realized what he truly wanted, to leave the Rift and not serve under Exdeath any longer. His goal was out of his reach and he knew it so as a last thank you he sacrificed himself to defeat Necrobe for Bartz's party. Ever since then he had been aimlessly wandering the rift and ending up in different dimensions.
He appeared to Terra and her party and challenged them for the Excalipur, thinking it was the Excalibur. After he is defeated he let the party summon him as an Esper until they were done with their journey. Once he returned to the rift he then found himself on the world of Twin Moons where he was summoned by the Creator to fight against Ceodore on the Moon. With another loss in his books he bid farewell to the party and questioned if Bartz was with them. The Rift seemed like home for many years to come until he encountered another nameless party on World A while he was there looking for Excalibur.
After a couple more losses he found himself finally on two more worlds. The first was that of Ivalice and he was considered to be a "dangerous mark." Lucky for him he found his special weapons for battle, though he was defeated yet again by another party. Finally he ended up in the Colosseum with firearms that he had found in the rift and eventually his traditional weapons. With another defeat under his belt, he stayed in the arena for awhile with Snow until he decided to return to the rift once more in search of the one true warrior... Bartz.
He finally found himself face to face against Bartz once more in World B, during the War of the Gods. His wish had finally been fufilled and he fought Bartz one on one and to nobodies surprise he also lost that one. Regardless of his defeat, he still swore that he would find and fight Bartz once again! The rift had pulled him back into its clutches to only spit him out on Pulse where a new search for weapons would begin!
