Etro help Noctis figure this woman out.
Another night brought more excitement into Noctis' life, as if he were short on it to begin with. The mansion had received a call from a man who had just gotten off his shift only a few minutes before - he was one of the guards that worked the mansion evenings. Thus, he'd been one of the men who had gotten a good look at Stella during her recent...visit. He'd called to report he'd spotted Stella on the streets of the city. Not acting suspiciously, he'd said, but present nonetheless. He felt as if Noctis should know. Good judgment there. He'd also mentioned that he had informed the city's policing force about her, as well, and they were taking it upon themselves to figure out what she was doing.
Noctis trusted the men to make the right decisions, but he wasn't about to let a bunch of soldiers - who hated the Fleuret clan by indoctrination - handle the situation by themselves with absolutely no direction at all. Noctis had taken the first means of transportation out to the proper part of the city and given strict orders for the men watching Stella not to move on her or spook her in any way, which most of them had questioned profusely. So it seemed the news of his recent short evening spent with the blond Fleuret heir hadn't spread throughout all the city guard. Noctis had arrived in the security station of the city district where Stella had been spotted only a few minutes later, finding that a handful of men had taken it upon themselves to monitor her as she trotted through the city. They were all communicating via walkie-talkie, passing off surveillance to one another as Stella moved from block to block. They were working with almost a cold, malicious efficiency, which only caused Noctis to reinforce his point about leaving her by for the time being. He wasn't remotely suspicious about her activities - after all, if she wished to remain unseen, he was fairly sure she could have remained unseen. Then again, she wouldn't have wanted terribly much attention from the people within the city as it was. Noctis supposed that was why, once he finally got a look at her through one of the video cameras set up on a city sidewalk (mostly to help with traffic issues), she seemed to be clinging to the shadows as best she could. Noctis merely looked up at the monitor with his eyes narrowed, trying to determine what it was she was doing.
"Sir, do we plan on capturing her?", one of the three guards waiting behind Noctis asked, causing the prince to turn around and momentarily regard the man before his gaze returned to the video feed. "Not unless we have a reason to." Noctis could hear a gruff huff in protest, but the guard ultimately went back to polishing the blade on the sword he carried. Stella continued on, unabated as best he could tell, coming fairly close to the building Noctis currently stood within. He wasn't sure if he should actually step out to confront her directly or keep watching. When it came to this woman, he didn't know anything at all. He lost view of her once she rounded a corner, though, and Noctis turned away from the screen, causing all the troops to rise from their seated positions in unison. "Orders?" Noctis passed through them and stepped to the door. "Just do as I do," Noctis informed them, stepping out into the cool night air and hearing them scramble to do the same.
With Stella barely a building away, Noctis stopped at the next doorway and entered, making a beeline for the set of stairs within the building, which was empty save for a night guard who looked confused but turned his eyes back nervously to a magazine once he realized it was someone as important as Noctis who'd just nonchalantly entered the building. Noctis jogged his way up the steps to the second level of the building and moved alongside the windows there, skimming the nearby street for long, blond hair. He spotted her along the next building's edge and stopped at the window, gazing down on her. The three soldiers stepped up beside him a second later. They mumbled amongst themselves, asking each other what she could be doing, making comments about Fleuret rumors and, ultimately, gravitating towards analyzing Stella's looks. Noctis cast a dark glance over them once they did, and the three fell silent again. He knew what they were thinking though. Why is the prince acting like this? Noctis couldn't even answer that himself yet.
And he would have even more questions. Noctis watched with suspicion as a man emerged around a nearby corner and ran directly into Stella. A quick urge to react to the action notwithstanding, Noctis simply kept watching and noticed the look on Stella's face when she looked at the man. His voice was difficult to hear...but Noctis picked up a few words. He heard destroy. Family. I can explain from Stella. "Sir?" Noctis held up a hand to tell the men to hold, adding a quick glance to make sure they followed the order before his eyes moved back to watch Stella...and whom Noctis assumed to be her father...have their encounter. He needed to see this. [/size]

NOCTIS LUCIS CAELUM HEY THERE, THEY CALL ME NOCT AND I'M CURRENTLY 22 YEARS OLD. I'M FROM THE WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY VERSUS XIII WHERE I AM A PRINCE. I GO FOR GIRLS AND I WILL THROW MY WEIGHT BEHIND PSICOM IF I HAVE TO PICK A SIDE. ------------------------------------------------- Weapon:
Noctis can essentially wield any bladed weapon that exists, it seems, through his unique brand of weapon summoning and telepathy. Noctis does not necessarily have to be holding a weapon to use it, as he can suspend them in air around his person and utilize more than one at a time. His most often-used handheld weapon is a falchion with an engine at the hilt. The weapons he wields telekinetically serve just as well as shields as they do for offensive purposes. He is also occasionally seen using a gun, though they're outlawed in the kingdom.
Abilities:
Weapon Summoning/Telekinesis: Noctis, through the power of the crystal, is able to summon nearly any bladed weapon his mind can imagine and control said weapon through telekinesis. This is usually performed in wielding multiple weapons to devastating effect. The exact range of Noctis' telekinesis is not quite known, but he seems to typically summon weapons and wield them in a relatively close proximity to his body. His powers are obviously quite useful for offensive purposes, but they can also be used defensively, allowing him to form a highly effective, constantly adapting shield of weaponry that allows him to protect himself from bullets and explosive force. Many times, he forms a shield through forming a bit of a cyclone around his body with the weapons he's summoned.
Teleportation: Noctis has also shown the ability to teleport short distances (?) while utilizing the power of the crystal. The teleportation is very straightforward - he simply flashes out of one spot and appears in another. It's not known exactly how far he can teleport, but it seems to be limited to places he can see with his own eyes, and is an instant process.
Tactical Mind: Noctis has been trained in the art of war from youth, and is highly knowledgeable with multiple modern combat tactics. As an extension, he is knowledgeable with multiple weapons and small-squad guerrilla tactics, making him quite a formidable strategist in a fight.
Magic: Noctis seems to have some rather straightforward spells not unlike a red mage, ranging in the fire, blizzard, and thunder schools of magic.
Personality: Noctis, for one, is known to be quite a shy fellow. Not to say he's the type to hide away from everyone and not say anything (unless he's dealing with politics - then he likes to stay as out of things as possible), but he's certainly not going to make a show of himself. In order to overcome the shyness when talking to strangers (and women), Noctis just keeps himself calm, keeps himself cool - might not always say the most interesting thing or seem the most friendly, but at least he keeps himself from saying the complete wrong thing. For this reason, Noctis can come off as aloof in conversation to those that don't know him well or at all. Maybe a bit boring and uncreative, too, which is quite untrue. Of course, they don't have much more to judge him by than this. After all, his position as prince of a kingdom in a pretty rough position requires some amount of secrecy about himself.
However, Noctis is a much looser individual around his friends, specifically his 'gang' consisting of Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto. Not to say he's telling a joke every few seconds or giving one of them a noogie when in their presence, but he certainly is more open around them, if not completely chummy. After all, he knows they don't give a damn about the cool act anyway. He's just as protective of them as they are of him (since he thinks protection is a bit of overkill anyway - he prefers to think of them more as just a crew rather than guardians or whatever his father wants to call them). He doesn't care a thing about his supposed value or anything of the such - he prefers to just be one of the boys (one of the mature ones) and feels almost awkward about people going out of their way to keep him safe.
No doubt that Noctis can be fairly violent when he needs to, lashing out at opponents with no apparent remorse. It's not exactly known if the crystal has any effect on his state of mind when he taps into its power, but he certainly doesn't seem to be all that talkative when using his powers (could be any number of reasons). While he is a man who is naturally perceptive to the needs of others and is quite thoughtful, he balances this out with a calm aggression that he needs to survive and advance the Caelums. He doesn't appear to be blooming into a charismatic, ambitious leader; instead, Noctis looks to be the capable, rational, and knowledgeable type.
History: Growing up a prince is something of equal parts strain and luxury. And so it was for Noctis Lucis Caelum. Sheltered a bit from the world but also provided with everything he needed, Noctis' only friends growing up were two other children of his kingdom, Ignis and Gladiolus, and as such he grew as close to them as he did the maids and butlers tending to him. His father, on the other hand, was not seen quite as often. Regardless, through his training and the attention given to him by other sources, an originally reckless, overly quiet Noctis grew to more capably understand his link to the crystal and understand his responsibilities as a prince.
Since not much more than that can be said, fast forward to an adult Noctis and the supposed peace treaty between the nations that would ensure the crystal would remain protected and the Caelum family could continue their business as usual while restoring their strength. Noctis would be the one to attend the signing party in the king's place. During the course of his fraternizing, a light he would see in the sky would lead him to conversation with one of the party's patrons who would introduce herself as Stella. The two would part after exchanging bedtime stories about the Goddess Etro and the Kingdom of the Dead. Not long after, an attack from Niflheim, who utilized the signing as a way to sneak their troops in the Caelum city, would force Noctis and his two friends, now his guardians, to try and control the chaos that spread throughout the city. Several times, there were attack on Noctis' life, but none were successful. During the chaos, a blond foreigner by the name of Prompto chose to assist against the enemies of the kingdom. Noctis, grateful for his assistance, agreed to let him accompany them. It was not long before it was revealed that Prompto was a fugitive, but Noctis disregarded the issue, feeling Prompto had proven himself.
In the time since, the kingdom regrouped, planning their counterstrike on Niflheim while keeping up a somewhat mild facade. Noctis dwelt quite a bit on the meeting at the party and trying to pinpoint the locations of several key Niflheim officers and warriors present in the attack. He became entangled in a conspiracy surrounding Stella Nox Fleuret and his own father, leading to a tentative alliance of sorts between him and his enemy's daughter. |
