In his semi-conscious state, Gippal knew that he was feeling something far different from a sheet strolling across his body and making him stir. He turned onto his side slowly, still mostly asleep as he did. The feeling remained. He flopped back onto his back. Nothing changed - he still felt like someone was...breathing on him. Yes, it really did feel as creepy as it sounded, but as Gippal slowly gained consciousness from the realization that he wasn't going to be getting anymore sleep due to someone bugging him to no end, he realized that the certain "someone" had a name - mother nature. That feeling against his skin...that was wind.
Gippal, with a loud groan of dismay, sat up. "Fryd ec ed huf?" And why did Gippal feel so tired as he sat up from what he thought to be his bed? A hand went to the side of his face with the patch, rubbing lightly above and below it as was his usual habit in the mornings, for whatever strange reason. He couldn't exactly scrape at it to get the sleepy feeling out, after all.
Blowing a breath out of air through pursed lips, he shifted to the right slightly, but instead of feeling a mattress that gave way when he moved it, all he felt was some sort of hard surface underneath him. Okay, this was continually getting weirder and weirder for him. Gippal ran a hand across whatever was below him. Rough and stony. Pavement? Why was he out in the middle of a bunch of pavement? Had he been sleeping so deeply that someone had come plucked him right out of the bed and dragged him out into some street?
It was the only explanation he had right now, so Gippal acted accordingly. "Hey! Whoever did this, I hope you think you're funny, 'cause I don't!", he said, words not quite as enthusiastic with his tongue still drunken from the effects of apparently sleeping himself into feeling pretty miserable.
Gippal reeled himself in, though, and try to get a gauge on his surroundings to figure out which street he was on. His eye searched upwards, stretching across the tall length of buildings that were...not looking right to him. If anyone knew architecture well, it was Gippal, and the buildings above him...he didn't see anything about them that screamed "Spiran architecture." There were...way too many straight lines and windows, and the colors weren't...vibrant enough. A quiet "Huh" left his chest, and if he hadn't felt like any sudden movements would lead him back down onto his back, he probably would have been in his interests to get to his feet and get to figuring out what exactly he was seeing around him. Instead, the strange fatigue compelled him to take standing up slowly, only for him to get a move on once he spotted some citizen - in strange, plain clothing - coming past. Gippal propped himself against one of the building's walls, eagerly looking to the approaching man, who was blond but not Al-Bhed. Plus, he was in some kind of a hurry.
"Hey, you, take a break from rushing to the fire for a sec," Gippal said to him, stepping forward to cut the man off, "and tell me where we're standing right now. And don't be smart about it, okay? I had a weird night." The man didn't even flinch, much to Gippal's surprise, but instead answered matter-of-factly. "Another newcomer...you're in Initium, on the planet Bhunivelze."

GIPPAL HEY THERE, THEY CALL ME GIPPAL AND I'M CURRENTLY 19 YEARS OLD. I'M FROM THE WORLD OF SPIRA WHERE I AM THE LEADER OF THE MACHINE FACTION. I GO FOR GIRLS AND I WILL THROW MY WEIGHT BEHIND PSICOM. ------------------------------------------------- Weapon:
Machina Gun: Gippal wields an oversized machina weapon that he made himself. It operates like a veritable hand cannon, basically, that can be used in a variety of creative ways. Gippal puts each and every one of these to good use to make himself a rather unpredictable fighter holding onto a highly powerful weapon - a double whammy for anyone looking to "bring it," as it were.
Abilities:
Tech-Based Combat: As mentioned above, Gippal's fighting style is based around his machina gun and other forms of machina that he puts to good use, such as various sorts of grenades. His skills with these fancy, technologically advanced weapons are what give him his edge in combat, as he'll never be a top notch combatant without them even if he is a solid marksman and capable hand-to-hand fighter.
Leadership: Having become the leader of one of Spira's factions at such a young age, Gippal obviously showed a knack for charismatic leadership that attracted people to his cause. His intelligence and skills helped as well, surely, but no doubt Gippal can lead people with a well-thought guiding hand.
Machina Engineering: Gippal's greatest skill, and a part of his heritage as an Al-Bhed, is his ability to create, repair, improve, and take apart all sorts of machina for different purposes. Odds are one can't put any piece of machina in front of Gippal that he can't understand or make into something worthwhile eventually.
Personality: There should be no doubt that Gippal is a confident man, though probably not quite cocky, through and through. He's not the type to go around telling people that he's great or anything of the sort unless he's dropping a comment about some of his machines, but his confidence can easily be seen through his body language, from his tone, and the like. He has no trouble taking on challenges, either, proof he thinks nothing can overcome him if he puts his mind to conquering the problem or task. Said conquering also involves women at times. Gippal's confidence can be said to be what makes him a good leader, but it obviously proves to backfire on him at times.
Gippal is, overall, a good man though with a strong sense of justice and a desire to help people, as proven by his interest in having his faction sit neutrally and try to provide everyone with machines. Perhaps he can be hot-blooded and a tad of a jerk from time to time when his judgment is off, but overall he tends to treat people right and acts with some level of prudence in his more important affairs. Responsible he is, though his actions while taking that responsibility can occasionally miss their mark.
History: Gippal had always wanted to be a Crusader, but being an Al Bhed, he was "not eligible". When he found out the Crimson Squad accepted all comers, he wasted no time in seizing the opportunity. He prized himself on his skill with machinery, telling his comrades no one could use a machina weapon like an Al Bhed.
On a training mission in the Sanubia Sands, Gippal met his teammates, Nooj, an ex-Crusader, and Baralai, a Yevonite, most likely an Acolyte. While there he also met their sphere recorder, Paine. Throughout their time as teammates, the four learned much of each other, and shared many laughs about their futures.
On the final mission to become members of the Crimson Squad, they, and many other applicants, were required to enter the Den of Woe to investigate a strange happening. Inside, they discovered applicants turning against each other. After a while, Shuyin, a spirit who possessed the entrants to the cave, took over Nooj and he pulled his gun on Baralai. Gippal raised his weapon to Nooj's head to get him to stop, and Baralai raised his to Gippal's head as they were all taken over by the spirit.
Paine was able to break apart the triangle and Shuyin's spirit left Gippal and Baralai, but secretly lay low inside of Nooj. They exited the Den and met up with the officials who told them they were official Crimson Squad members, their first mission being to go to the top of Mushroom Rock Road and guard Maester Wen Kinoc during Operation Mi'ihen. As soon as they turned, however, the guards attempted to shoot them down.
They managed to escape, and met up outside Rin's Travel Agency on the Mi'ihen Highroad. The four decided it would be best if they split up. Paine, still recording, had her camera on as Nooj, again possessed, shot Baralai in the back. When Gippal heard the shot he turned and was shot in the chest, then Nooj turned fire on Paine. All of them survived Nooj's attack, but were separated thinking Nooj as a traitor.
Later, when Gippal pays a visit to Home, he is in the desert where he meets Auron and talks about rushing into the fight and being a "jackass". All of a sudden, his partner gets radioed that the Guado are attacking Home, and they both run off. It is assumed he later evacuated on the airship with the others.
Later on, after Yuna defeats Sin, Gippal starts the Machine Faction in the abandoned Djose Temple with a connection on Bikanel Island, where people can join and excavate in the desert. At the temple Gippal meets Yuna, Rikku and Paine who want to go digging at the desert, but Paine plays it off like they have never met. At this point, Nooj is Meyvn of the Youth League, still under Shuyin's control, and Baralai is Praetor of New Yevon. Though he is neutral, Gippal provides his machines to both sides.
After a while, Gippal goes to the Bevelle Underground where Vegnagun is located, meets up with Nooj and Baralai, and finds the hole where Vegnagun used to be. Shuyin leaves Nooj and enters Baralai who jumps into the hole and the two jump in after him. Later on, when Yuna enters a connecting hole, she meets with Shuyin, who is actually Baralai, and Gippal and Nooj tell her to keep care of things topside.
Soon after Yuna's fall, Rikku and Paine throw a CommSphere into the hole finding out it was of no use. Although when Yuna returns back to Celsius with the Leblanc Syndicate, Shinra reports the CommSphere has been fixed. The video footage shows Gippal who states that whoever made the invention is a genius, and claims he is also a "genius" for fixing the CommSphere, although communication through the sphere wasn't working.
After Gippal and Nooj manage to reach Vegnagun, YRP meets with them, as well as the Leblanc Syndicate, and they take on Vegnagun and Shuyin together, defeating them. Baralai is released as Lenne and Shuyin decide to finally rest in the Farplane. The three factions join together as one group under Spira and forget their differences.
