Amunet looked carefully at her next victim. She would have her answers, whether they wanted to give them to her or not. She sat on the edge of the table, and pulled her skirt to fall evenly over her legs. She pulled the most innocent face she could manage. She had heard from many that her face did not match the evil that brewed inside. It brought her great satisfaction that she was so easily underestimated. Her staff was set a few feet from her reach, instead a large iron rod was in her hands. The end of it was glowing red. The man across from her already seemed to be in rough shape. A few lash marks, easily recognized as a whip lashing. He had missing fingernails, but they had already scabbed over.
"Darling we can do this the easy way or the hard way. It's such a shame to mar such pretty flesh." She said. Her face twisted into a grotesque smile as she giggled. The red glow of the metal was beginning to fade, she frowned, placing it back on the fire. He still wasn't talking which was fine. She had plenty of time to play with her new toy. She preferred when they resisted a little. It made the game so much more fun when they eventually gave in. Once the metal was glowing again she pulled it from the flames and went back over to the man.
"Now, where are they holding him?" She asked, swinging the metal poker easily through her fingertips. She laid the hot metal across the man's stomach. The smell of burning flesh reached her nose and she felt a giddy feeling reach her stomach. She received no answer to her question and frowned. She removed the metal from skin, and placed it parallel with the last mark, a few inches higher. "I know you know the answer to my question." She told him. The anger in her body finally reached her gold colored eyes. They stole what belonged to her and she wanted him back. Still not receiving an answer, she pulled back the metal and slammed it hard into the man's ribs. The resounding crack brought a smile to her lips. Still no answers. Maybe this race wasn't as weak as she assumed. She might get to enjoy herself for a while before getting her answer, but she would get an answer. Even if she had to kill a hundred of this so-called army's men to get it.

Amunet Vah'liana HEY THERE, THEY CALL ME Amunet AND I'M CURRENTLY 25 YEARS OLD. I'M FROM THE WORLD OF Gaia WHERE I AM A/THE Demon Dealer. I GO FOR BOTH AND I WILL THROW MY WEIGHT BEHIND PSICOM...For now. ------------------------------------------------- Weapon: A large wood staff that is intricately carved. It has a few large precious gems set in the top, and words burned into it in her native language. She mostly uses it to channel her magic, but if also trained to use it as a physical weapon. It's infused with magics to make it more durable, so that it is able to stand against swords and the like.
Daggers- She keeps two on her at all times. They are seemingly twins, with one only being slightly larger than the other. They are ornate, seemingly decorative, with a black metal-like substance as the blade. She keeps them very clean, and polished when they are not in use. She tends to use them in close combat, but also for torture when other devices are not around for her use.
Abilities: With her staff in hand she has the ability to control shadows and darkness, generally twisting them into animal shapes that do her bidding. She can do so without the staff as well at a weaker level, but with a great physical price. If she attempts to perform her magic without the staff she becomes very sick, often coughing up blood.
With such a strong connection to darkness, she is put at a great disadvantage in the light. Not only does prolonged contact weaken her, but she also has nothing to defend herself with.
She is trained in hand to hand combat, combat with a staff, and combat with daggers.
She is cunning and tricky, often manipulating her opponents rather than actually fighting them
Personality: Amunet is a piece of work. Plain and simple. She is strong, sadistic and volatile. If you earn her favor she can be a great ally. However, the moment someone betrays her, or becomes too boring to keep around she will turn on them. Often leaving those she called an ally a bloody mess on the floor for someone to pick up later. She is cold, calculating and violent. She enjoys pain in others. The sound of breaking bones makes her smile, and screams of agony make her giggle with glee. She often uses her innocent face to get people to trust her.
There are only two people she has any strong feelings towards. One of which she loves, albeit in somewhat twisted way. The other she wants nothing more to sink her daggers into their flesh and hear them scream for mercy. Everyone else at the moment is a means to an end, or someone to play with until she grows bored. She comes off as haughty and arrogant. She thinks much of herself and will not take people disrespecting her.
History:
Amunet grew up with a life of monsters and darkness. She was born to a demon mother and human father. Her mother was slaughtered by human soldiers just a few short months after giving birth to Amunet. Her human father took the baby, and hid her away. He married a human woman, and they raised Amunet as their very own. They never told her that underneath the pretty face and oddly colored eyes she wasn't completely human. She grew up feeling alienated by her peers. They clung to the light, while she always shied from it. She often found that it hurt her eyes. She got headaches and became dizzy if she had to be in it for long amounts of time. Anything longer than a few hours makes her tired and occasionally causes fainting spells. She spent most of her time in her darkened room, sitting by herself.
As she got older, it became clear that she was becoming more and more like her mother. It started with small things. Cat-like creatures began molding themselves from the shadows around her, if for nothing else but to keep her company. Though such unintended use of her abilities often made her more sickly than she had been previously. The doctors around her could do nothing to diagnose the strange illness that made her sensitive to light, and cough blood.
It was then she started seeing a strange figure in her shadows. He looked around her age and didn't really talk. Her parents thought the 'hallucinations' were part of her illness. At this point he didn't say much, only left her an egg sized gem stone. She never kept it out of her sight. The bloody coughing stopped nearly instantly. Having a catalyst to control her abilities, despite not knowing how to use it exactly, helped her greatly. As she become more in control of her new abilities, the boy who kept her company seemed to come around less often. Even though he was not able to talk to her in the partial shadow form, the company was nice.
Her own loneliness got the better of her, and she began becoming more and more violent. Her father eventually decided to tell his wife exactly what the little girl they were housing was. The woman she called her mother was furious. She often abused the girl when her father was not around. Nothing that would seem abnormal to onlooker, but her step mother would send her outside for hours when the sun was out. She wouldn't let her back in until her father was home. The anger within the little girl built and built until a monster formed from the shadows and attacked her stepmother. The beast nearly killed the woman, but her father was able to send it away. After that, her stepmother demanded the girl be sent out of the house.
So Amunet was gone, at a tender age of eleven years old. It was then she really met her friend. Not as a shadow-person but as a fully corporeal demon. He taught her how to defend herself. First hand to hand, then with the staff, and finally with her daggers. She returned to her home town, at midnight on the winter solstice when she was 18 years old. Now a young woman, and having added two more gems to the staff that focuses her powers, she tore the woman to shreds. Leaving only a bloody mess and her stepmother's wedding ring for anyone to find. After that, she made her name for herself. First as a thief, that came in the night and killed her victims for money and valuables. Then as a mercenary. Killing victims in return for money and favors. After that she was just a ghost story. A monster in the dark that terrorized anyone that made her angry. Very few ever escaped her grasp, and if they did it was deliberate. They never saw her face.
