N OWHERE TO RUN * SO LET'S JUST GET IT OVER ❚ WORDS 505 ❚ TAGS OPEN ❚ NOTES Daytime :/ Amunet was bored. So bored. It was daytime outside, and the sun seemed particularly bright and shiny today. She scowled at the good weather. She usually slept during these hours, but she couldn't seem to fall asleep. Why could it never be cloudy when you wanted it to be. She didn't like this PSICOM garbage. She much preferred being an unaffiliated party, creating madness within the chaos of wars. However, it was either stay here and do work for PSICOM, or be forced to take housing in the Academy. The happy and helpful people in Academia grated on her nerves. Without proper backup she couldn't exactly make it in a strange world on her own. She was able to fend for herself on Gaia but that was different. She knew it's people, and it's beasts. This place was foreign to her. She didn't like playing chess when she coudn't see her enemy's moves. It just wouldn't do.
Amunet straightened her skirts, a light clinking from her weapons knocking together sounded through the space. Once everything seemed in place, she picked up her staff and a black umbrella she managed to retrieve just for cases like this. Sleep obviously wasn't going to come to her now, maybe a little stroll in the daylight would be just enough to knock her out. Despite the sound emitted from fixing her clothes, the metal sounds did not return when she walked. She smiled mischievously. This might actually be some fun. Of course she couldn't make too much of a ruckus, no need to be on the radar before she scoped out exactly what and who she was dealing with.
She flinched at the first light that hit her when she exited the building. She opened the umbrella and positioned it over her skin. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it blocked most of the most intense light. She looked at the time piece that was on the PSICOM issued communicator. She hummed in annoyance. The middle of the day. The sun was at it's most intense. She would need to be back indoors in a half of an hour to prevent any sort of illness. She didn't need to make herself sick for a week, or longer. The buildings were tall, and they provided adequate shadow from the sunlight, even at this point in the day. She liked that. It meant she wouldn't be at a complete disadvantage to any foes that sought battle in the daylight. As long as she could prevent the light sickness she would be fine.
Amunet merely smiled at the odd looks she was getting from the people in this city. Anything that seemed strange instantly garnered attention. She guessed a girl with an umbrella on a bright sunny day counted as strange here. It didn't bother her in the least. Her mood was not a good one, but the smiles and the niceties were generally better to use when out in public. She didn't need people getting all suspicious of her true persona. |
