He was once again alone with his thoughts. And from what he learned from when he was with Yuna was that he hated to be alone. When he was with her or Max his thoughts were at bay. Right now they were coming back, his heart felt like it was being wring out of him. He just couldn't let go of the past.
His mind went to two people. One of them was his old friend, though he was a bit selfish and arrogant he still cared about his friend. Angeal wanted to look after him and take care of him. He wanted to be there for that friend when others just shoved him aside. Angeal even went as far as to Defect from ShinRa just to bring him back and get him help. But no matter what he did he couldn't get him back. He failed to reason with him and ended up in the spiral that is inner demons lay out for him. He wondered if he would ever get that friend to forgive him for not trying hard enough.
The next thought when to a young man with spiky black hair. How Angeal enjoyed having him as a student. He was so innocent and energetic when they first met. The boy looked at him with those eyes that held so much trust in him, how he seem so naive. It hurt him so much when he did what he did. Angeal saw how much he tried to reason with him but he was so caught up in his sorrows that he never took it seriously. Even in the worse of times he pushed Zack to do his best especially when they last fought. "Zack...." He muttered.
Angeal's hand went to the scar that was on his abdomen A large vertical scar that was proof that what he did had no name. It was shameful, he threw away his honor and others had to pay for that price. Angeal stood up from the edge and jumped down. He dove down, half of his mind thinking that he should just let his wing stay where it is and let him fall to his doom. But Angeal knew better than to take the easy way out. His large white wing spread out and with it he gained control of his body and started to fly down.
Soon Angeal landed softly on the ground. He ignored the stares that he was receiving from strangers. Though it was hard to do so. He felt that whatever burdens that appear in this world he would carry them. That is the only way that he would ever gain forgiveness from the one person that tried until the end to bring him to his senses. |

How the heck did he get on another world? And furthermore how was he alive? All he remembered was waking up on the forest ground a few days ago with the Buster Sword laying next to him, and him saving a few nice people from a pack of wild animals. They gave him directions to the nearest city, but he didn’t expect it to be so strange looking. All he knew was, it wasn’t Midgar and he needed some answers.
Of course as the young man made his way through the streets, his over-sized sword and glowing blue eyes were the centre of attention. He stuck out like a sore thumb! Even though Zack didn’t pay attention to the people stares and words, but his heart was still uneasy. If he was alive...could that mean all his past friends who died could also be alive? Essai, Sebastian, etc, and even Angeal too? No no...It couldn’t be, however just the thought of them did bring a cheerful smile to his face and set his heart at ease.
Now, Zack walked with ease through the streets. His hands raised up; rested behind his head and a little skip in his strut. The confident SOLDIER wasn’t going to allow himself to idly think about the past, he needed more information, but even the need for valuable information wasn’t going to stop him from flirting with some of the local beauty as they walked on by.
”Hey there beauti...” Zack’s voice trailed off. There was a rather loud uproar on the far other side of the platform.
Zack turned away from the beauty and set his glowing eyes on location of the commotion. His trained eyes studied the gathering and noticed something...peculiar. It was white and feathery, almost like an angel’s wing. That’s when it hit him. He had seen something like that before! Now curious about the familiar thing, Zack wanted to get closer. With no hesitation, Zack ran through the streets to get a better look at the people-obscured object.
His boots thumped repeatedly against the metallic walk-way, faster and faster as he picked up speed. After getting significantly closer to the strange-yet-familiar thing, Zack came to a rather shocking realization. It didn’t just look like a wing, it WAS a wing! At this point, Zack’s past memories flooded his thoughts and those wings...they couldn’t be.
The closer he got the more he knew it had to be him, but the more his heart also started to ache...
Could...it really be? At this elevated distance, the truth was clear as day. There was no mistaking those pure white and soft angelic wings. ”“Angeal...””Zack muttered silently to himself. But as Zack ran closer, he saw that there was a gap separating their two platforms and the man was walking away. “Oh no you don’t!” Zack said loudly. He showed no sign of slowing down, but just the opposite. His speed was still increasing rapidly even though there was a metal-rail at the end and the menacing gap that separated the two platforms. From the looks of it...he was going to jump it. No fear was in his eyes, only the happiness of seeing Angeal again was there.
With no hesitation at all, Zack leapt from the metal-rails (now with a boot-sized dent) with all his might. There was no doubt in his mind that he was going to make it. Even so, he couldn’t contain his overflowing joy. As he sailed through the air, the puppy shouted out at the top of his lungs...”ANGEAALLL!!!” hoping to catch his attention.

This wasn't his place to be, he got here hoping to find some explanation on why was here here, alive but in the end he got nothing. There was just no explanation to it he heard from a couple, it was just a chance to live once again. But in Angeal's eyes he didn't deserve to have that chance. He has so many thing he did wrong in the past. He hurt many others. So why should he be alive and not someone who really deserved it.
The question was, where was he going to go next? This new world was large and from he heard it could literally take him his entire life to just explore everything. But what else could he do besides from exploring. He knew no one except Yuna and Max. And he felt that he had already bothered them enough. Angeal felt that he should just be alone, somewhere to die and just repent. There was nothing nor no one that could change his mind about it. At least no one that was alive and here in Gran Pulse. "I'll just stay one more night then I'll move on."
”ANGEAALLL!!!”
Angeal looked up, thinking that the ghosts of his past were begining to push him over the edge and into insanity. He turned around and he couldn't believe his eyes. Jumping through the air was his former student. The boy.... well now man, he seemed older from the last time he saw him. He was like the brother he never had and the son he never would. But the most surprising thing was that he was actually jumping..... and from the looks of it it was a long way between the two platforms. "Puppy...." He muttered as he took off running and with using the rail as support he took off and caught Zack mid-air. The weight of the man and the familiar sword on his back were nothing for Angeal as he flew back to where he started.
As he set Zack down he turned around and faced the direction opposite from Zack. He couldn't do it, he couldn't face him now. He still had to fix what he did to him. He hurt the person who cared about him. Everything was his fault, so how could Zack be glad to see him. Well he couldn't just walk away, Angeal had a feeling that Zack wouldn't let him if he tried. "Hello Zack." His voice sounded wary of him. As if saying the wrong thing could end things horrible for the both of them. "You seem well."
If Angeal had to think about the words that were coming out of his mouth then he would have thought that he was just making time before he saw his chance to escape from the shame he felt. In his eyes Angeal didn't deserve Zack's friendship. Not after he turned his student into his personal executioner. "I... am just going to go." He said awkwardly. Not knowing what he should say to the other. "It's good that you are okay." |
